MUSIC
This was recorded on the last day of FAWM. The mixing drove me mad, I was helplessly fumbling around with the drum sound like a total beginner; don't know why Addictive Drums made it so hard for me.
LYRICS
Gosh, I'm so out of ideas. This is literally the 'This is fine' meme set to music. Or to be precise the webcomic 'On Fire' by KC Green: https://gunshowcomic.com/648
Yesterday the new IPCC report was released, telling us the window of opportunity to mend the most drastic consequences of the impending climate catastrophe is shutting fast.
Nobody took notice because now there is a war like it was the 20th century all over again.
The room is on fire
What can you say
I know for sure
Everything will be OK
The room is on fire
This is fine
It’s the room owner’s problem
but certainly not mine
This heat is like those summer days
When we felt we’d melt away
But in the end the evening always came
The room is on fire
and I’m OK
With the events that are
unfolding currently
I am on fire
and I’m at ease
It is in your own attitude
That you will find peace
Uneasy and feeling strange
I was sure that all will be OK
Why is it I melt away

Wow! The change in energy kinda feels like a premonition of what we will face once we cross the threshold of severe climate change! Amazing music that lines up so perfectly with the message in your lyrics! Outstanding work!

Oh my Christ! The way that chorus drops, the bvs and planet sized fuzz... you know the moment in Melancholia where you finally see it in the sky, so giant you can only see part of it? This is like that. Fantastic dynamics, and visceral guitar solo where the entire mix seems to pick up the distortion until everything is obliterated. Gosh, I've been writing and listening, starting to type after the first chorus dropped, so it's not a reflection until now, but yeah, this would be the perfect soundtrack for that moment. Every superlative for the way this ends, fantastic job engineering that, sincerely. I love this.

That clean guitar vs crunchy guitar is so cool! I really enjoyed the groove this song is working with. Had my head bobbin' the whole time and when that distorted section hits it really hits. I think the lyric works just "fine." I think you'll be pleasantly surprised when you come back to this one. It's got lots of character and feels well-mixed to me. Nice work! (the ending freaked me out though, LOL)

Very cool and slick, after the liner notes I expected chaos.... :)
It's grooving, and the laid back nature in the verses is a stark contrast to the "fire" you're describing. The chorus hits and that solo licks like flames till the outro which gets wild. Well done. Dramatic and compelling listen/mix/arrangement.
Thanks for your kind words and input earlier. Your visits and viewpoint are always much appreciated. I'll hear from you again before March ends, I hope! :)

I think the drums sound great in-spite the issues you had with them. They sound clear and present in the mix. Love the contrast of all the parts and love to hear people make two seemingly incompatible moods work together so seamlessly

Really enjoyed the vocal layers, and I like the way the song flows between the verse and refrain a lot. Your songs really impress. Great job again, and cool solo. :)

Love the blues-to-grunge contrast you've built here...lyrically you've nailed the irony of that meme...we're melting while the world leaders keep F-ing around...hey let's start a war, nothing barfs out greenhouse gases like the war machine! Uff. Love the Mellotron choirs in the chorus, and the growing burning static at the end until it ends abruptly....powerful. Good one.

War is always good to distract from problems and solutions.
How to cope with fire? This clip shows another possibility:

Fire exclamation mark
Like @jaegerin wrote "still a great listen" and the detoriating sound at the end makes it really uncomfortable.

This meme is just a brilliant summary of my mood right now. And I totally dig the change of blues rock to grunge. I don't think that it is sound uninspired. This song is super cool and a perfect one to close the album. Mixing is also good.

Wow. You really captured it. A song that makes you feel uncomfortable but is still a great listen.
