Had to write about something transcendent in light of all the junk going on in the world. My wife's Ukrainian.
Tried this acoustically and just didn't love it. Tried rapped with some heavy autotune, some iZotope VocalSynth 2 (I adore TalkBox sounds), and some other warping. Enjoying this a lot more. Want to get into more electronic sounds and away from the acoustic.
Wrote the lyrics in 2 25 minute FocusMate sections. Totally helps. I think this'll be a good post-FAWM motivator to keep the FAWM going.
Only 3 chords activated with a default chord trigger with C G F in Logic Pro. Had to revise the melody in the Chorus to fit a minor pentatonic (the default chord trigger seems to create a m7 chord), but I love the chorus now.
The stars in the sky, too many to count, like sand swept this side of the sea
To the roar of an army of perpetual waves, extending as far as can be
From the thunder that rumbles from miles away, as lightning cracks open the sky
To the awe of the mountains, in clear winter air, which beckon the bravest to try
From the blinding white light of a high mountain peak, made new with the freshest of snow
[I recognize the line above is redundant talking about mountains...]
To the fathomless depths of a damp lightless cave, with treasures that no man has known
From the beauty shone down on a crisp spring day, the sun with its kisses on every child's face
To the warmth of a meal, prepared with such love, to only see smiles on the same
This is a preview, this is a taste
These just scattered beams from the sun of God's face
His glory, his tribute in what he creates
Shared with all of mankind, no matter the state
From the smallest of cells, to the smallest of us, made up of the sculptures inside of our blood
To the paintings of clouds, which take on their shapes like oil from the tip of a fine artist's brush,
From the deserts to the forests, from the swamps to the lakes; to rivers, and seas, and subterranean tables
This world plucked from waters rose up like a stamp, as from the very most epic of fables
This is a preview, this is a taste
These just scattered beams from the sun of God's face
His glory, his tribute in what he creates
Shared with all of mankind, no matter the state
The God of such glory, a God who's so great
Stooped down yet so low that he could take on our shame
And just when he did, as if it wasn't enough
This diamond dug down, deep down inside of our dust
He washed off our feet, his hands touched our leprosy,
Then he chose to eat & drink with a sinner so messed up as me
The kind like that guy Isaiah, who was struck down in his awe
And then tasked simply to go and tell, to tell of all he saw
This is a preview, this is a taste
These just scattered beams from the sun of God's face
His glory, his tribute in what he creates
Shared with all of mankind, no matter the state
Yes, this is a preview, this is taste
Just a glimpse of his glory that awaits

Monster lyric Andrew! Love the changes. Back music has a great hold. Very well put together. Sadly topical.
