This one was sort of a rebirth
Em
I see myself sitting on the banks of a stream
D
Turn my face up to that relentless sunbeam
Am
Tryin to figure out what it all means
D
The start and the finish and the in betweens
Em
Maybe theres no answers to the why and when
D
If I need the lesson it comes round again
Am
Never really know how much time to spend
D
Try to Open up my eyes from beginning to end
G
I think I want to see it all
C
I think I want to know the truth
D
I think I want to open up my eyes
G
So I can learn what’s really out there
D
Just point my feet in the direction I will go
C
I will pay attention
and enjoy the show
D C G
But Where I am headed I really don’t know
Em
When you find your journey circles you right back here
D
Examining everything the joy and fear
Am
Take that healing salve and wipe your spirit clear
Em
Working hard not to let your worries interfere
G
I think I want to see it all
C
I think I want to know the truth
D
I think I want to open up my eyes
G
So I can learn what’s really out there
D
Just point my feet in the direction I will go
C
I will pay attention
and enjoy the show
D C G
But Where I am headed I really don’t know

That descending progression in the verses gives them a darkness that phrases like "relentless sunbeam" help to build. The chorus is more optimistic, but it sounds like the protagonist isn't entirely convinced; the ambiguity is left unresolved at the end. Very nicely done.

Nice mood, this is sort of like sitting with a friend, talking about life. Trying to understand what is real. Trying to accept what’s to come, understanding that we don’t know.
