Feb 2022 circus carnival horror
The first of many nightmarish creations by PT Barnum.
Swing from branch of the treetop
Swim the splash of the sea
These are the last memories of
The dazzling, mummified
Mermaid from Feejee
The crypid myth, that old legend
The mutant that didn't exist
Awoke from a vision
Behold this exhibit
Don't miss it, there ain't nothing like this
Observe: a hirsute simian
Atop the scaled fin of a fish
A sight that confounds
It's the talk of the town
You’ll remember long as you live
A pittance you'll pay for the pleasure
A penny a pop for a peek
You'll just be amazed
Ladies, gents, don’t delay
Patrons from around the world agree
Be glad it ain't up and breathing
They say it were powerful mean
With the strength of a chimp
It could rip up a skiff
When the dead drifted ashore, it would eat
When no one’s around, does it wake up
To scamper the lamp-lit veranda
Gaining its freedom
From the museum
To feed on the streets of Manhattan
Does it look down in horror
A finger feels where it fused
To see the monstrosity
That it has come to be
Mangled, defiled, and used
Corpses stapled together
Souls forever entwined
Festering, rotting
The slobbering mob thinks
This prop here was really alive
The last jobbernowl clears out
I fill the coffers with coins
As I turn off the light
To close up for the night
From the back of the room there's a voice

This is so funny! You are amazing at taking the melody where I could not ever think of it going. That is so cool. The instrumentation here is also spot on with the lyrics. You did it once again.
Peace bro and see you next year.

Circus feel from the beginning. The vocal was a great match to the lyric. The whole idea of the sideshow boggles my mind. Nicely done.
