We were walking slowly hand in hand
When we heard the first notes form the band
WE walked in so we could hear them play
And every single song blew us away
All of them boys, well, they could sing
They played so goddamn loud our ears would ring
We would follow them most anywhere
Bars and clubs and even the county fair
They only played fifteen shows one year
We would follow them, help pack the gear
They would always stop and say hello
No matter how long it was they drove
All of them boys, well, they could sing
They played so goddamn loud our ears would ring
We would follow them most anywhere
Bars and clubs and even the county fair
We would follow them across the land
We'd cheer them on, they were our favorite band
But now they've decided to part ways
My wife and I, we long for those old days
All of them boys, well, they could sing
They played so goddamn loud our ears would ring
We would follow them most anywhere
Bars and clubs and even the county fair

This is a lovely sentimental story and quite well written. There's probably a few minor syllable issues, but I've always believed its about delivery of a line whether there's an extra or missing 'space'
Think about changing your chorus a bit, because the melody / staccato /. four lines is the same as the verses. You're gonna want it to be quite different, so it stands out.
Otherwise this song is written in a very similar way to those old post-war songs and was an enjoyable read
