Feb 2022 french pop four-chord-loop
I took some loops from logic during week 1 and just looped ad infinitum. I couldn't come up with anything.
Today, I opened it up and it sounded French to me. So here is a French song. Kinda has a Jenifer vibe :)
Also, this is song 14! I'm so happy!!
(Peut-on jamais)
(Peut-on jamais)
s’égaliser, s’émanciper
Des vérroux dorés du passé
Qui nous ont tellement divisé
(Peut-on jamais)
Peut-on jamais
Peut-on jamais s’aimer?
Comment faire pour se parler
De nos idées polarisés
Se critiquer sans égos froisser
S’écouter
Quand c’est plus facile de simplifier
Les nuances se perdent
Dans nos manques de perspective
Ces nuances sont clées
Pour s’humaniser
(Peut-on jamais)
(Peut-on jamais)
s’égaliser, s’émanciper
Des vérroux dorés du passé
Qui nous ont tellement divisé
(Peut-on jamais)
Peut-on jamais
Peut-on jamais s’aimer?
(Peut-on jamais)
(Peut-on jamais)
s’égaliser, s’émanciper
Des vérroux dorés du passé
Qui nous ont tellement divisé
(Peut-on jamais)
Peut-on jamais
Peut-on jamais s’aimer?
------ ENGLISH -------
Another day, another newspaper
Another headline that's hard for me to digest
A new scandal on the front page
Manipulates our animal instincts
With every passing day, I'm inclined to retreat from the world
But still, I hope and wonder
(Can we ever)
Love each other fully, and trust each other
Choose to share freely without suspicion
Accept and celebrate each other just as we are
(Can we ever)
Become equal, and free ourselves
From the golden chains of the past
That have divided us for so long
(Can we ever)
Can we ever
Can we ever just love each other
How do we talk to each other
About our polarized ideas
Criticize without hurting egos
Listen
WHen it's so much easier to simplify
Our nuances get lost in our lack of perspective
These nuances are key to humanize us to the other
(Can we ever)
Love each other fully, and trust each other
Choose to share freely without suspicion
Accept and celebrate each other just as we are
(Can we ever)
Become equal, and free ourselves
From the golden chains of the past
That have divided us for so long
(Can we ever)
Can we ever
Can we ever just love each other
I'm not without fault, I know that
And I'll say things I'll regret
It's the only way to learn and correct
My wrong hypotheses and biases
(Can we ever)
Love each other fully, and trust each other
Choose to share freely without suspicion
Accept and celebrate each other just as we are
(Can we ever)
Become equal, and free ourselves
From the golden chains of the past
That have divided us for so long
(Can we ever)
Can we ever
Can we ever just love each other

Wonderful. Love the vocal arrangement and French sounds so nice. I even understood most of it. Awesome singing!
At first I thought the riff sounds familiar but maybe I knew it from browsing Logic’s loops myself.

Lovely groove, mix, voice, "Can we ever" is a killer hook, beautifully utilized throughout. Fantastique! *chef's kiss*
#tit4tat - thanks for the comments earlier today.

That is stunning. My high school French is only allowing me fragments of meaning, but the use of internal rhyme is awesome, particularly "Un autre jour, un autre journal" This is a pop jewel.

Cool! The repeating peut-on jamais -line works really well.

As i told Amboise i like testing my under used french, only checking the translation later! This is beautiful again , they music is new fresh and just right. such a true message so often feel that way - attack or run and hide so hard to know. Well said and done #tit4tat (5 of 5)

This is sooo good and so very topical these days. Your melody is absolutely sumptuous and intense, as it should be for these wonderful lyrics. Beautiful singing and music too. I love everything about this fabulous song! Had to listen twice. I going to add this song to the Recommendation Thread in the forums.

This could be a massive hit in France, right now. When I was in Paris recently, this song was in tune with the majority of tracks I heard on the radio in the car.
Love your voice... and the arrangement is spot on - very MAINTENANT

I really liked the chorus of this a lot-- and the simple pop arrangement really lets the vocals shine. I can understand a lot of French (having grown up in a francophone region of Ontario) but I don't speak it well, so listening to French songs in FAWM gives me a special treat. Thank you for sharing this!

This is really beautiful... I think I'll understand it in a few months hopefully... delicately pretty in a darkened corner with spotlight of love shinning on like. #tit4tat3

Fabulous song. Gorgeous vocal and guitar sound. Love to listen in French. I’m monolingual English speaker but love to listen in other languages. It taps into a different part of our global sensitivity. I know a bit of Punjabi and Urdu so love to listen to the fabulous nusrat fateh Ali khan. Marvellous song and great lyrics Thanks

So cool so hear French songs on FAWM. And this is very well performed and produced. Is French your mother tongue?
I did not even care that these are 4 chords (which is a good sign!), but maybe adding a new instrument or percussion around the half would make it even more awesome.

I love the guitar hook and your vocals in French, magnifique!

Your vocals in French are fantastic-really fit the music. Love the doubled vocals. Your singing reminds me of Zaz. This was formidable!
