This is a collaboration between myself, @slusk, @cairobraga and @seemanski. I'm not sure how exactly to tag them all as collaborators, but I wanted to make sure this song was posted before the end of February. I don't have the video (I really hope it gets posted to the forum!), but I do have a copy of the final mix. I had so much fun doing this, and really look forward to doing more blind collaborations like this in the future!
I don't have liner notes from everybody, but here is what @seemanski said (hopefully the video it references will be available soon!):
“Before I begin I have written these liner notes before I have seen the video and cringed at myself acting like a plonker. This was a lot of fun, one big notable change that I'm sure my fellow contributers before me will have noticed was that I used a pitch shifter to move the key up a few semi tones. I felt much more comfortable singing in that range. I wrote the lyrics after visiting Meadowhall in Sheffield (which is big shopping centre/mall) and feeling massive out of place and not fitting in but wanting to. Probably a minor midlife crisis. I actually had a really nice time but that thought stuck with me and these lyrics were born. Super pleased with how it came out, holding my breath with what it looks like .”
Thank you so much @cairobraga for mixing this for us!
I'm dressed for the winter
in the middle of summer
I can see myself
looking like another
I can see myself
looking like you
I can see myself
looking like
I'm not wearing matching socks
and a worn out jumper
I can see myself
looking like another
I can see myself
Looking like you
I can see myself clearly
In the mirror now
And I don't look nothing like
You
I can see myself
looking like you

Oh wow, this is so catchy and well produced! I'm amazed by how awesome the video turned out. LOVE those vocals so much, but the whole song is like something a real band would put out. Great job and fantastic collaboration, everyone!

Oh this is a DELIGHT. All of you really did something interesting with the 4-track-“ish” video format from handheld selfie work to changing out acoustic for electric mid-track to vibrant visual backgrounds. And it’s got an EXCELLENT new wave vibe.
@siebass Mar 2022
Great groove in the electronic drums and bass. Nice clean vox, got a good headbob going, nice falsetto! Spacey guitars. Seems like you guys had a ton of fun in this, lovely synthy candy throughout. Definitely captured the feel of not fitting in. Great work all!
@thedutchwidows Mar 2022
This is so good; the video's really visually engaging - the oil projector effect (or actual oil projector) does a great job with that. The song's great, really hooky. And that vocal is sublime! Great work all!
@bjunker Mar 2022
Looks and sounds fantastic! All parts so cool, and such a good groove.
@tunecat Mar 2022
Wow! Love the video the sound and the vibe. Has a bit of a retro feel to it. Let Bibb the techno drums tho which bring it riggg up date snd the 80s longing type of vocal . It has something of morrisey in it ( does it). Wooo … it’s complex snd exciting lots of layers. Fir me a really fabulous song. This band is one I’d go to. Funky guitars he’ll yeah.

Great Video!!!! I loved the song and lyrics... really upbeat song.
Great job on the harmonies!!! ....and one of y'all has the coolest studio in the world!!!!
@seemanski Mar 2022
Damn I want a light show now and you have taken playing the keys to a brand new level.
@roddy Mar 2022
Excellent collaboration really high quality performance from all of you.
@dock Mar 2022
It's interesting how little the odd synth sounds change the overall rock feeling of this song. They are cool and fun and are somehow filling a conventional role. Good singing and I loved the tasty guitar sparsely sprinkled in like a condiment. Very good production/mix.
@kendrakinsey Mar 2022
I love this! Pop paradise! So catchy!
@paulh1237 Mar 2022
Ooh that held "youuuu" I'm the chorus is killer. Never feel bad for not fitting in at Meadowhall. Never. Love the synth/Casio style beat and then those choppy guitars at the end are divine. Great work guys!
@slusk Mar 2022
This turned out really good thanks to my fellow collaborators! This is a typical example of how the whole is greater than the sum of all parts.
@seemanski Feb 2022
I'm so glad that this got posted even if it doesn't have the video. I think it sounds great. Would love to see the video but having this is still a good outcome. I really enjoyed the Collab.
@seemanski Feb 2022
Thanks @elesimo, I've done that.
@tunecat Feb 2022
Enjoying this a lot - still at the outset . And very intrigued already that in liner notes Meadowhall is mentioned. I’m just round the corner from there. Lyrics are jumping out at me- nice mundane images. I will come back fir the video of someone lets me know!

The usual way for 4-wat collabs would be for @slusk and @seemanski also set up a collab between them, and just link to this song on the demo URL, liner notes, etc. You can see how I did it for my video collab: https://fawm.org/songs/137201/
That being said, this is an amazing song, folks! Solid mix, and I love all the different sections. Really nice! Can't wait to see the video!
