This will be the last one from me this year (though I do have a very strange drum n bass/folk hybrid that's half-finished/unfit for human consumption).
The chord sequence to this was one of the first things I wrote this month but I've not got round to using it until today.
I cobbled together some lyrics from some unfinished scraps from across the month and wrote a B section to make it at least mildly interesting to listen to and that's about it.
Now to catch up on some listening!
Edit: Changed the title to something more interesting.
Do we really have to play the same parts again?
Within this piss poor parade
Pretending either of us wants to be friends
What a tedious charade
You know I won't chop off my ear for you?
Just need a memory of home
I only offered you my hollow apology
In the reflection of your phone
I never really grasped the art
Of playing it cool
I wasted every chance I had
Just playing the fool
I always felt lucidity was overrated
The hunter bites the lion
And now you know how it feels to be broken
Blink your eyes and I'll be gone

Great vocal delivery, love the melody and playful chord changes pulling it along. Cool, feels like the vibes of Portishead somehow :)
@wobbiewobbit Mar 2022
love the drum and bass sounds. solid and groovy foundation for the atmospheric piano and synth sounds and the vocals are PERFECT - love the high register lines. great delivery and production. listening again, so good.
@nancycunning Mar 2022
That is a compelling title, and those high lilty lyrics are an nice pairing with these lyrics. I like the singer's willingness to be vulnerable and broken. Feels like the singee kinda took that all for granted.
@vomvorton Mar 2022
Love the weird pitchshifty delay on this one, an interesting texture that really adds to the triphop vibes. Intriguing lyric, you signed off in style this year!
@ayehahmur Mar 2022
Wow! Love those opening lines. Really intriguing, and your voice sounds amazing. The piano is fantastic over those creepy resonator synth textures. And all in all I think this just sounds brilliant.

This has such a nice vibe to it - the vocal has a sort of woozy delivery that is both perfect for the music and also really pleasing on the ear. It's melodically and harmonically a really interesting listen - the sparsity and slightly staccato nature of the music and the flowing vocal melody. Works really well.
@hanley Mar 2022
Really cool stuff dude! That ascending spring reverb thing is kinda disorientating and adds to the trippyness of the whole thing. Nice obscure lyrics too, very open to interpretation! Strong vocals too, solid all round really!
@danvaillancourt Mar 2022
Great dreamy warbly slightly-dissonant backing mixed with great slightly-melancholy lyrics/singing. The Van Gogh got me to click on this one, so great job on title. ;) Fun use of modulation effects.
@leepat Mar 2022
slow that beat some more!
love the plaintive vocal over the sparse instrumentation with the keyboard stabs.
the b-section lyrics are good
@faceofeinstein Mar 2022
first off killer instrumental, I love the production.
The melody fits it perfectly and gives me a bit of a qotsa vibe somehow, in a great way. Got two listens in, and I'm sure I'll be back. Cheers.

I like how the title is basically you comparing yourself to one of the the greatest impressionist artists in history. Way to keep things modest ;-)
This has an awesome Portishead-style vibe to it. I approve of the electronic beats you've leaned into this year. This beat is simple but perfect for the track and the sound of that slightly wibbly piano is great. The other swirly synths are such a subtle addition, I hardly notice they're there but that add a nice texture to the mix. Cool ending to your fawm album.

I really enjoy the lyrics of this one a lot. Piss poor parade, what a gem of alliteration. Good job all around.
@matthew62 Feb 2022
Wow! This is a trippy sardonic gem. Everything fits perfectly. And there are many great lines, but I think my favorite is, "You know I won't chop my ear off for you?" Well done.
