Paranoid and maladroit
I walk in a giant's shoes
In the light of pure morning
I'm scared of what shines through
Disarmer, snake charmer
I know I'm the imposter
One day the cracks will show
This will all be torn asunder
You'll never
You'll never work in this town again
Booksmart, silver tongue
I string together pretty words
Selling the stuff of dreams
I get more than I'm worth
Rumors and hearsay
Every liar makes their own grave
When the truth comes calling
I'll be dealt the ace of spades
You'll never
You'll never work in this town again
I stand on someone's else shoulders
I stand where someone could've thrived
Someone's standing in my shadow
I've stolen someone else's life
You'll never
You'll never work in this town again

Really good song, particularly as the band were coming to it fresh. The lyrics are strong as is the melody and the whole works brilliantly. Knowing the circumstances from your bio, it's hard not to read the words in that context; I think they communicate on a universal level and there's art in that. Very nice.

I already heard this over at bandcamp. I really like the melody on this song and the performances a great. Pretty well recorded for the set=up, a real "rehearsal room" vibe. Good work, all!
