Had to resist the natural urge to turn up the reverb and hit a bit Eminor chord. So this is based on D Harmonic minor. Love the chords in Harmonic minor, lots of numbers and stuff...
I have a sample pack called "Abstract Beats" by Code Sounds. They are 4 bar drum/percussion/noise bits that I'm using as a basis for all my tracks. A preview of the pack is available here:

Constructive criticism is always welcome. Tell me all about it!

Yes it has that secret agent vibe like the intro to a movie. I like those short stabs of the piano/synth like a sudden shock or alarm./attack on a dark foggy night.....all of which a secret agent could easily defend against.

Is there a song equivalent of nominative determinism? Dunno, but if there is, this is it. This totally nails the Agent Secret vibe (which in my head I've swapped round to be Secret Agent) - it sounds like a spy thriller. Really nicely done! #listeningskirmish

This has a really cool sound with a nice variety of themes and good transitions throughout as well. I especially like the guitar and how it hangs the tension on the top notes of the arpeggios.
Since you've got #ccwelcome tagged, I'll try to give some. I always find it hard though without know what you intend from this. A song on its own? Background beat for something? Etc. Also, everyone's taste is subjective and there's no wrong style out there!
I think what would take it to the next level for myself is to add more build and variance when the themes come back. For example, the guitar section at 0:49 and 1:38 are very similar (if not the exact same). Adding minor variances to build interest over time can add a ton of depth. This can be anything from dynamics to different notes playing around the same theme, different layers, different underlying chords, different melody on the same chords, etc etc. So many ways. But growing the themes over time can really help drive the interest.
Now.. this is FAWM and I see it was even a skirmish song, so for all I know, you're already a master at this and intend to do it later on!!

This is very good. Very suggestive of secret agents and spy thrillers. The change to the guitar based sections is really nice to listen to.

This is cool, loved the build up and then those squelchy basses really give it a kick

Great beginning then the rest comes in. Very cool, definitely get the secret agent vibe. Especially when the guitar comes in. Wicked cool skirmish. Nice work
