I saw one was band and thought of a band in my old stomping grounds. They were great.
Mid Life Crisis

They were Shadow Rock
Back in the 70's
So good for a local band
They broke up
Later got together
They were in demand
They changed their name
Is seemed to fit
Now called Mid Life Crisis
Played at our reunion
Danced so hard
Damn they were righteous
Chorus
Now they're getting old
Just like the rest of us
Still singing pure gold
They were the best of us
Mid Life Crisis
One night in the 80s
I actually sang
One song with them on stage
I think I was tipsy
To even try that
I came outta my cage
Bridge
Mostly a cover band
Still they could jam
Classic rock and R&B
Always ready to slam
Still in my mind
So much of their music
All these years later remain
I heard they still play
Local venues
I'd love to hear them again
Repeat chorus

This made me smile. Wonderful nostalgic description of how much we enjoy the music and bands we grow up with, know and love. How great that this band is still together. I hope you do get to go see them again. Great lyrics Cindy. I see you've had another very productive FAWM. FAWM wouldn't be the same without you. I'm happy to experience it along with you, even though I'm only writing instrumentals these days. :)

Yes, there was a time when the local bands sounded real good to us. There were a bunch in the early 70's.

A very relatable lyric. The new band name seems apropos too! I have a band I remember like that from my high school years. Some friends and I ran a fan club for them. Three of them still keep in touch with several of us to this day (Facebook helps ;) I really liked this nostalgic look at local bands. It's cool that you got to see your favorite for your reunion. I really enjoyed this.

Some lovely (and relatable!) phrases here. Just wondering if you want to put a verse in between the chorus and the bridge?
