This track was inspired by Jordan Peterson and others like him. You can make of that what you will. Recorded on an Ipad Mini 5 using Audio Evolution Studio, via a Centrance MixerFace R4 and and MXL 990 mic. Backing by Chordbot.
Personal note: Yes, the ending needs to be a little tighter.
Everyone came to the room
To see what it was this time
The old man was going on about
Papers strewn everywhere
Static blowing out his hair
He says I‘ve got it this time
PC: We stood there with glazed eyes
The hapless audience for his lies
We all laughed and shook our heads
He raised his voice when he said
C„You shall rue the day
You despise what I say
Ignore me at your own peril“
The old professor hides
In leathered walls of earned tenure
His computer keyboard constantly clicking
Another diatribe sent
To a servlist of theories badly spent
He smiles as he stares off into space
PC, C
Bridge: One day it was shown
This bird had flown
He was fired for impropriety
In the last day of his job
He set fire to the mob
Crying at the fall of society

A brilliant, dark portrait, I particularly loved the second set of verses with the 'leathered walls', 'keyboard clicking', the 'diatribe sent to a servlist of theories badly spent' and that image of a fairly horrible man looking into the half-distance all self-satisfied. The melody on the main hook is super catchy, I was definitely singing along by the end, vocal performance is full of nuance, and I rather like the Chordbot backing (you still have to tell it what progression to play, right?). Really enjoyed my listen! #tit4tat

I really like this image:
Static blowing out his hair
He says I‘ve got it this time
This is fun! It might be fun to do it as a duo, with a male voice for the old professor.
Your own singing is lovely, and I really enjoyed both the story and the performance.

I don’t know the story, but your song is telling a story to me. Sometimes the search never results in a eureka moment. That could drive a person to do some nonsense, go crazy, go weird. I really like your phrasing and syllable emphasis on some words, draws attention. Nice song. #tit4tat

You have such a great voice. You capture the character of the professor really well. This has a musical theatre vibe. Like the multi-vocal for the chorus. Dark and effective last verse and chorus. Some lovely piano playing too.

Good story, I like your chord choices. Simple and austere just like a professor.
