I ended with a lullaby last year and I decided to do that again. This, like that, is a more somber one. I toyed with writing something about the war specifically but decided not to exactly. I'm would have liked more time to work on the melody and maybe add lyrics, but I am empty!
The owl is flying
The twilight glows
The planet whirls in space
The galaxies will
Shine tonight
But now’s no time to rest
Hearts are broken
Down below
We hold each other close
The dreams we had
Are almost gone
Is this the world we chose?
If we don’t
wake up now
Our dreams will disappear
The owl is flying
The twilight glows
The planet whirls in space

Yeah, the lyrics are a little darker than one would usually associate with the genre of lullaby. Still, the peaceful contemplation is definitely in the style!

I love the sparseness of these lyrics - and I really appreciate how you captured the concern and heartbreak of what's going on in the world right now without overstating it. So gentle and heartfelt.

Sweet lullaby on the uke to finish out FAWM this year. We all need more lullabies these days.

Very nice imagery in a simple lullaby!

I love the image of the planet whirling in space! But it's hard to sleep when the song contemplates extinction!!! You did great work this month.

I like the repeating first and last verse. Some nice visuals, and there's a definite downer type of feeling in the middle.
