Nigel: my final offering this year I think. Had so much fun and listened to so much great music. My son Rob @guitarpatz83 had the idea of the two of us doing a bass duet so I came up with the simple chord sequence over some Cuban salsa loops from Yurt Rock which I've used a lot this year. He's added his great second part on a 5 string Yamaha which has 2 octave neck so massive range.
Rob: Dad and I had a plan to do a bass duet right from early Feb and sketched out a quick idea but only got round to putting it down this weekend. I was dubious when my dad told me he’d decided to put it to a Cuban beat but it was actually lots of fun and I think we found some nice ground within which to work the parts in and out of each other. Glad we got it done!
No lyrics - the sentiment is:
el mundo necesita paz y amor
the world needs peace and love
Em7 D C Em7 and a few variations
See you next year

I'll repeat comments of others: what a great groove! What a great idea! Those syncopated descending bass lines have me strutting around the room :-) Love the little coordinated tag together at the very end.

This feels very smooth and cool to me. What a great groove. And great guitar melody lines. I really enjoyed listening.

A father and son collab!! So cool to be able to share that together. This song has such a nice pace and vibe. I enjoy how the basses pop in and out to show their stuff and then go back into the mix. I couldn't agree more with the sentiment. Well done!

nice one! you both make that bass sound so warm and inviting, and the cuban groove was a fantastic idea....

Ha! Well well this is fun. Very cool idea and it really grooves. You guys killed it. Fun listen.
But there's more....
1) I get 2 #tit4tats for the price of one, a second for @n1742 and a forth for @guitarpatz83
2) My part of the Havana Corpse (1 minute intro song) find it here: https://fawm.org/songs/136803/ is called "I Left my Heart in Havana".. :) - which is what drew me to the title during my first visit to @n1742 .
With a little workshopping a combination of both ideas would be pretty cool, I think. Maybe during 5090?
Great job! Man, there's some quality talent and tunes in that @tit4tat group!

Haha, I can imagine you both staring at each other, sizing each other up and strapping on the basses. Love it how they worm around each other before syncing up at certain points. I'd be interested to hear some ooohhss and ahhhhs come in at some point, maybe for the future... but am happy with the bass. And I would fiddle around adding stuff whereas I like the constraint shown.
For me I think the drums are a bit too dominant, at points I wanted to hear the bass a bit more. But then it could just be my speakers... so many things can affect a mix! A nice idea pulled off very well :)

I don't think I've ever heard a bass duet before. This was a real treat! Must be such fun to make music as a father son duo. Well done!

Like the jive in this instrumental. Could see it playing at a nightly event on the beach maybe a bar or hotel or some beach bar joint... #tit4tat

Ooooh this is such a fly groove. I'm really into it! Glad I came over to have a listen :)
