Dancers

Dm Am
the dancers, carved from wood
E Am
forever in mid step
Dm Am
heads bowed towards each other
F C E Am
seem to be swaying in the dim candle light
F C
two hands clasped,
F C
two arms hug tenderly
F C E Am
Lost in a loving embrace
Dm Am
The lovers hear music, silent to us
E Am
they agreed to dance until the music stops
Dm Am
love feeds music, music feeds dance,
F C E Am
dance feeds love and the music never stops

two hands clasped,

two arms hug tenderly
F C E Am
Lost in a loving embrace
Dm Am
love feeds music, music feeds dance,
F C E Am
dance feeds love and the music never stops

Lovely study of another work, the plaintive melody is somewhat at odds with the theme of love, music, and dance. It makes the mind start to create backstories for these lovers, possibly star-crossed? Perhaps this dance is the only joining they'll ever know and it carries on forever in a blissful melancholy. It's a beautiful, open-ended effect that pulls the listener in by expressing much more than it explains.
Well done
