I've thoroughly enjoyed my first FAWM year.
Here's my last tune. Ballad. Hopefully not too trite or sappy or boring melodically or lyrically. I don't know. I try, but I never know, lol.
Keep writing in March everyone! Songwriting is GOOD.
The Beating of Your Heart
I wake up in the morning
Try to shake my scattered brain loose from this haze
And feel like going back to sleep
Cuz I don’t want to face another day
I close my eyes and see your smile embracing all that life can be
Then throw the covers and the cobwebs off
Cuz you are here with me
I feel the beating of your heart
It’s deep inside my soul
It’s everywhere I’ve been
Right here where I am
And every place I’ll go
Like the sun adorns the day
I know just where you are
Always here inside
Keeping me alive
The beating of your heart
It never was a question of who’d dip their toe in first - you
And when it came to having fun while making sure all other did - guess who
If life life plays dirty tricks on those who never should deserve it, I believe
I’ll do my best to honor you
But you’re the one who rescues me
I feel the beating of your heart
It’s deep inside my soul
It’s everywhere I’ve been
Right here where I am
and every place I’ll go
Like the sun adorns the day
I know just where you are
Always here inside
Keeping me alive
The beating of your heart
You’ll always be right here
Cuz I will always feel
The beating of your heart

Nice work Jeff....This is another sweet tune. I love the feel of the chorus. It is classic pop...and when I say "classic", I am getting a very Perry Como-era pop vibe. It is heart-felt, and I can tell it comes from a very real place. It seems like it could have film placement potential. Well done...congrats on nine new tunes this month!

I like the question/response in the second verse. The instrumentation really adds to the song as well. You’re getting quite good at GarageBand, lol.
For some reason, this song screams “power ballad” to me. Something that Diane Warren would write for Aerosmith for Armageddon 2.

Sounds magical. The song about morning fits perfectly with my going to bed.
