It takes a tiny flicker to keep hope alive: in life and war
Glow
There’s a glow
There’s a spark
There is something you can hold on to
In the dark
You can light a thousand wax candles
And watch as they light the darkest night
You can snuff them all so easy
By cutting off their source of air
It only takes a second
Then the smoke circles a path up
You can smell the melting wax
And the matches burnt to ash
But it is the one candle you are missing
Giving off a message now
And while it is softly glowing
It brings up images loud
Of times in shadows
Times in light
Of wars beginning
Of wars to end
If there is still a flicker
If there is still a glow
It can not yet be
The end- no no no…

I like how it begins with hope and ends with resolve. Very thought-provoking and I'm sure will make an emotional song.

Stark reality with the needed glimmer of hope. Hits the hearts with strong emotions. I love the end! Can't wait to hear this with your beautiful vocals.

This is really good marthie. Would be good anytime but very poignant now. This is one to put that lovely voice to for sure. One of my fav lyrics of yours

This is a poignant lyric with longing and hope. Really strong images and writing that tugs at the heart.
