Feb 2022 hhgttg live-looping ambient improvisation douglas-adams-70th
I've decided to do a set of ambient pieces, continuing the practice I established during Fifty/Ninety last year. The goal is to get to 42 songs this FAWM. That figure is (of course) in honour of Douglas Adams, who would be 70 years old on March 11th.
RG9-BK nine-string guitar, loop pedal, processing.
Heavyocity "Ascend" piano.

like the slow march feel of this, esp. the whimsical melody around 1:00.
I've always identified with Arthur's predicament in this favourite book.

Stately, and there's hope combined with melancholy. Rough and smooth at the same time. This is quite special and a song to close your eyes to. I know I did.

Almost has a marching feel to this one, really like the sound of that last string pluck.

Mh, wonderful improvisation. Enjoyed the layers and the slow rhythmic trudging. And congrats for making it to 42, woo!

Wait, how many strings?
This is cool. Nice feel, almost a slow a march which isn't what you immediately think of with the word 'ambient'. Works really well though.

Another awesome piece, absolutely huge sound, I love it!

Almost majestic here! I was thinking it would be more humble for Arthur. Great job.

A whole different animal than number 7.
All that reverb/delay/whateveritis really creates a sense of space here allowing the guitar line to ride around on top.
A sense of majestic movement here.
Yup, really nice.
