Feb 2022 girl-with-guitar indie-folk lo-fi
Glad to be posting something less rough
bummed I only have an electric without an amp!
I got off plane and found
I was the same person here
I picked up my bags and thought
Give it just a little more time
Soon I’ll unwind
It’s never happened before (so far)
I thought I was beyond wishing on a star
Waiting for the moment my life will change
The moment I find
The moment it all feels fine
The moment the stars will align
The moment it all makes sense
And if I can’t find it here I’ll try again
I thought I was beyond a geographic cure
To remove the stick lodged up my ass
ooo
Don’t forget that moment when
It all comes into place
I know it’s here somewhere
Is it on a surfboard
Somewhere in the sea
Is it in the pull between you and me
Something’s gonna save me
From my own clenched jaw
Sometimes gonna make me say
Hallelujah

I think the lack if an amp gives this a cool, lo-fi edge. I like the way you repeat "the moment" but change the endings of the lines.

way to make the most of fawm... traveling without an amp? just fire up the phone and sing a one-take with sirens in the background. :)
are you familiar with the 90s bands "his name is alive" or "liquorice" or "tsunami"? this cops some of those vibes and i bet you'd like them. :)

Those opening lines are great. I chuckled ruefully at the idea that we think moving to a new place will somehow change us. This is a lovely song, and very relatable. I love the way you deliver that line about removing the stick. I can definitely relate :)
