Tangled was translated "Kaksin karkuteillä" (Two on the run).
I wanted to make a traditional finnish iskelmä, in the style of Kari Tapio. This is just a quick demo, but I will definitely record this one in real studio someday.
English translation available
Kaksin karkuteillä
Meille lähtö tuli hyvin äkkiä
Kun kyytiin nostettiin rahasäkkiä
Nyt rahaa on niin et sekosin laskuis
Nyt ajetaan kuin Thelma ja Louise
Kaksin karkuteillä
Ei minkäänlaista hätää ole meillä
Kun ollaan
Kaksin karkuteillä
Kun ei pankki enää anna maksuaikaa
Talo meni, piti ottaa omaa lainaa
Ja mä mietin että kai
Me ollaan niinku Bonnie ja Clyde
Nyt ajetaan auringonlaskuun
Taakse jätämme ikuisen marraskuun
Etelä-Amerikka kohti nähkääs
Me ratsastetaan kuin Butch ja Sundance
-----
Two on the run
For us, the departure came very suddenly
When a money bag was picked up
I lost track how much we have
Now we run like Thelma and Louise
Two on the run
We have no worries
When we are
Two on the run
When the bank does not give more payment time
We lost the house, had to take some own loan
And I thought I guess
We're like Bonnie and Clyde
Now let's drive to the sunset
We leave behind this eternal November
To South America, you see
We rode like Butch and Sundance

I suppose it is the resemblance between Finnish and Estonian that meant I was reminded of Tonis Magi while listening to this.
Catchy chorus in any language.

The road movie mood, the contry rock guitar and the finish langage remembered me of the movie Pidä huivista kiinni, Tatjana. Also, I find a similar poetry in the film and your song : no matter how bad things go, at least, we will still look cool.

this is a quick demo!! wow amazing. I love hearing other language songs and this is so clever. I adore the guitaring in this. And i can defo imagine it in a movie of some sort. Really good smooth change for the chorus

Wow. Very interesting. Almost an Ennio Morricone vibe--Finnish style. Maybe the soundtrack for a new movie genre--the Gravilox Western?

Lovely piece of music, though I don't understand a word. Love the atmospheric guitar, nice Twin Peaks-ish tremolo and well played.

I'm wholly ignorant of Kari Tapio, but I like the sound and feel: there's a strong resemblance to French cabaret noir. Enjoyed the unhurried narration, and the unworried chorus. It's going to be an enjoyable life in South America, without extradition treaties! [EDIT Yes I missed the unspoken subplot of the longevity of the comparison couples! Clever! ]

Clever! Fun to hear the singer almost like a narrator off to the side placing their own experience in the tv/film characters. Like they are on the run, but so so cool about it.

I loved the track on this and it is wonderful to hear your pronunciation. Clever write to include so many movies with two characters on the run. This was a treat to discover!

I never heard of this music style. But this is how I imagine Finish cowboy music. And it is so cool to listen to it. Love that guitar tone!

I don't know anything about traditional finnish iskelmä but really enjoyed this. It has a bit of the western vibe of Thelma & Louise in addition to the folk. Lyrics are lovely too.

Lovely vibe to this. That guitar sound is absolutely classic and great use of the tremolo pedal. Bass and drums just keep it rollin’

Really great guitar work on this one. Love the slide work. I'm sure the translation loses some of the original meaning, yet I love the general gist of the story with the instrumentation. Your vocals are also fitting for the feel. Hieno kirjoitus!

Mahtava outlaw-meininki!
@dock Mar 2022
Wonderful! The guitar is perfect for the western outlaw theme. Well sung!
