The notes I want to sing for you are lofty
in keeping with how high you’ve made me feel,
a vocal strain sung loudly or sung softly,
my voice is falsetto, but my love is real.
To sing of depths and highs I’m going through,
my voice might be falsetto, but my love is true.
Before we met, I mostly belted rock
that wasn’t hard to sing though it was loud.
Now sometimes when I sing or when I talk,
I wish my voice could soar above a cloud.
To sing of depths and highs I’m going through,
my voice might be falsetto, but my love is true.
As tenor, I can’t reach the stratosphere,
but while that be a place I can’t yet go,
I hope that in my high notes you will hear
the truth of love though it be sung falsetto.
To sing of depths and highs I’m going through,
my voice might be falsetto, but my love is true.

Lots of nice wordplay in this, going back to falsetto's original meaning of a false voice. I guess if you record a demo for this, you're going to have to *sing* it in falsetto; good luck with that—every time I try it does not sound pretty and it usually ends in me having a coughing fit!
