It really is true: sometimes a person comes through your life for just a little while, but their touch stays forever.
(I do not have access to a marimba, but that's what I hear.)
No, you didn’t put me back together
But you steadied the hand that held the thread
Oh—you never
Let me go
In every kind of weather
Wherever I ramble and roam
Oh—wherever
The stitching holds
When the chill plays in the windpipes
When the damp is in my eye
Though the night wakes to the wind’s cry, I
Am warm and dry
Warm and dry
Warm and dry
Warm and dry

Oh this is so beautiful. I love the quality of your voice. That line of you steadied the hand that held the thread is gorgeously evocative. I'm so glad to have found your work.

Dang! The link isn't working for my laptop. Really nice lyrics and I hope to hear it at the March Festival of the Living Rooms!

"When the chill plays in the windpipes" what a cool line this is. There's personification and about three or four meanings in it at least. And I love the gentle vocal performance of these lyrics.

Wonderful line. What a relaxing, ambient melody and playing. Love your emotive vocal, this was a beautiful treat and relatable lyric, great hook too, such a beautiful song, I feel bad you waited so long for it to be heard, but this was lovely!!
