Hurrah! Very happy to be done. This song is pretty meta, the verse is about FAWM, and the chorus is more about why we put ourselves through anything like this... basically there is no rhyme or reason, it's just the journey, and what good things may crop up on the way.
Thanks you FAWM, see you next year.
We had a landslide, we had a fist fight, we had a fling...
We thought of solutions, brought up some problems, we sung everything...
we were knockin on doors that were locked for a reason, we were kickin in teeth...
Becoming sure, and then suddenly scared to get outta our seat...
---
And we hold our breath, and dive without regret, we crystallise what should be said,
and put one foot in front of next, as we bid our time farewell,
And we see the light, at point of no return, and know that all those swears we swore,
were worth the pain, but - why oh why, do we this do ourselves.
---
We had a party, a party of wonders, a lyrical feast.
We sold our time to a challenge of tempers a temporary thing,
We grew hair as we drowned in the air of emotional fail...
We laughed in tune as we sung to the moon and he wished us all well...

"Knocking on doors that were locked for a reason," haha, amen. "all those swears we swore," a "lyrical feast," "we laughed in tune," so many good lines. . .and the whistling, the upbeat chorus, and a perfect tone to conclude your FAWM. But why don't you sound exhausted? haha. Congrats on returning and succeeding this FAWM!

Read the lyrics first and wasn't sure what musical direction you'd journey in - like your choice, and the laid back, verging on tired vocal is the perfect fit. Lots of great lines in here: a landslide, a fist fight, a fling , knocking on doors locked for a reason, we sold our time, and growing hair as we drowned.
Just great. With a bit of tweaking you could turn this into something other than a FAWM specific piece.

Congrats on the win dude! Pretty impressive that your first time back you've found your songwriting groove with what seems like ease! I've still never hit 14 after 10 years straight... one day maybe!
I love how your lyrics have a playfulness about them, and almost every line feels like it could be a classic expression I've heard before - familiar but never cliched.
Beautiful whistling solo, more of that please!
Nice little mix up of the melody in the final chorus' first line.
I always though the moon was a she, but they can be anything to anyone right?!

I love that first line and the whole first verse. What a lovely last day of FAWM song. And then the whistling. You captured the feeling of wistful relief at the coming of the end...Being carried off saying, wait, wait, I didn't get to write with all of the wonderful people here yet....Like I hadn't even heard of @christmascard and now it's over!!! Next year?
