I remember when I was a kid seeing those old silent films of early airplanes
Song #717- Lift Away ©2022 by Rob Lincoln Capo 9
D G C (w/o 1st finger)
I saw a flying machine
On the silent screen
When I was a just a kid
I wondered how they could
Lift away just lift away 2x
They failed so many times
But they just kept on trying
They never thought to stop
Until they reached the top
Chorus 2x
Bridge (Am Em D Em Am Em Bm C
And in that space of time
They strived to cross the line
To do what’s not been done
Hard work but still it’s fun
I just write these silly songs
I don’t try to right the wrong
Never reach to fly the skies
But still I will always try
Chrorus 4x

That's a really fine chorus you have there. Lovely, really, and such a nice verse melody too. It has a dreamy quality to it somehow which suits the lyric "drift away". I do think our dreams drive us to be our best, so dream away, even if it may not be as lofty a dream as creating a flying machine. Writing a good song is a noble goal too. I really enjoyed this song. It's inspiring.

You do better than "always try," you "lift away"...
Thanks for your comments on my song.
