This is a cowboy song that can also serve as a political allegory
Song #715- You Don’t Know What’s Next by Rob Lincoln ©2022
(No Capo) All sections are: Am Em C D
Rode into town on my brown horse
My name’s Piano Joe
Tied him to a post and I looked around
To see where I would go
Thought I’d wet my whistle at the old saloon
Just a few doors down
When all of a sudden a shot rang out
So I had to turn around
You don’t know
What I next did see
You don’t know
If it hit you or me
A loud and evil outlaw
He was looking right at me
Asked me what I’m doing here
Alone in his county
Chorus
I looked into that bad man’s eyes
With flaming orange hair
He said to me get out of town
Or he’d shoot my old horse there
I asked him if he shot my horse
How I’d get out of town
He didn’t have an answer
As the folks they gathered ‘round
Chorus
Bridge
Half the people thought the outlaw was their man
Half the people thought they’d like to help me if they
He said to the folks this piano man
Thinks he’s so damn smart
All he does is play and sing
While we here work so hard
He doesn’t come from these here parts
Talks like a city man
I say that I just shoot him now
Unless you got a better plan
Chorus

Nice playing, and the story moves along nicely. I like the chorus, and the bridge is a really nice break about the crowd is split.

I think the flaming orange hair might be the giveaway! With a full production this could be solid-gold dark country. I like the music a lot!
