Feb 2022 ccwelcome
OK, here's the 6th of 8 tracks I hoped to get ready for final mix nits/crits/opinions before fawm ends tomorrow.... omg I'm exhausted.
Please let me know if it sounds wonderful. If not, why not, how might you fix it, what did I screw up. All ears and all listening devices hear all things. Please let me know. Have at it. I want this to be perfect and to fit in as #65 in the WK100 collection (see my profile).
This one was born during FAWM2016 but I know it never sounded so polished (b/c I had no idea how, still don't, but....)
I hope you enjoy. Thanks for all the love, support and encouragement this month, wishing you a happy final day of FabFeb22. You can guess what I'll be doing - but come Tuesday I'll take a breath and get to returning all those lovely kind listens and tit4tats! With pleasure and much less pressure knowing I'd acheived my goals!
Thank you. Enjoy! (and if you don't try to tell me as best you can why you didn't - I really am listening (and learning!) :)
Hugs.

If I held you like a miracle, would you stay? Would you stay?
If I treated you so gentle would you never go away?
I've had my share of love gone wrong
And I don't want to hear that song again. Never again.
If I swore that I'd be true, could I live with you?
You you you you you you you?
I've had my share of love gone wrong
And I can't bear to hear that song again. Never again
(I told you once, I'll tell you twice)
Baby, won't you play nice?
(I told you once, I'll tell you twice)
Baby, I'll pay any price
(I told you once, I'll tell you twice)
Baby, come and play nice
(I told you once, I'll tell you twice)
When you touch me on my thigh,
I feel a thousand butterflies, baby
(baby baby baby baby)
I've had my share of love gone wrong
And I can't bear t to hear that song, never again
And I don't want to hear that song again, no, never again
And I don't want to hear that song, that sad sad sad song
If I held you like a miracle, would you stay? Would you stay?
If I treated you so gentle would you never go away?
I've had my share of love gone wrong
And I can't bear to hear that song again. Never again.
I've had my share of love gone wrong
And I can't bear to hear that song again. No, no, no, never again.
(I told you once I'll tell you twice)
I never want to hear that song again
(I told you once I'll tell you twice)
Never want to be wrong in love again
(I told you once I'll tell you twice)
I never want to hear that song again
I hold you like a miracle of love

Another keeper my friend! Just tuning back in after a coupla days of catch up on other stuff! I'll jump on the brass bandwagon. I think they'll do better to be crispier (technical term :0) There's a lot of lusciousness in your vocals, the repeats and that overall disco on ecstasy feel, so crispier horns would be an added texture with space around it. Great write Wolf!

Very cool, funky and groovy song, Wolf. As always, I'm afraid I can't find anything critical to say. Just love what I heard.

Yeah, I'd totally dance to that! I loved the layers of vocals coming in and out from either side of the headphones, and that goes for the instrumental layering as well. The hooky never want to hear that song again, is an earworm that will give it staying power. I really liked this!

I like how the vocal just rolls in out of nowhere and doesn't relent until the refrain. I can't tell where you come up for air. Sounds great as they all do. I like the horns, adds a little different flavor. "I told you once.." is a little buried in the mix at least on my speakers. #tit4tat thats it for now but I'll happily go more later.

Great beat. Lots of people could identify with this lyric. The repeat of the "again" gives me the sense there may have been multiple failings in love in the past. I enjoyed my listen!

Catchy! I like the big horn section and grooving guitar. The understated vocal mixed with the clear message of "never want to hear that song again", etc lines. Nice ending.

Party tune! Love the fade up intro. On the difficult question of the brass, I think it would be worth playing with the panning as Nadine's suggesting. The thing that hit me was that it's a very 'full' brass sound - i.e. it's got a lot brassy textures in the one sound (is it a synth brass?) and so it takes up quite a lot of space in the mix. I'm wondering if using a slightly more focused set of brass instruments (like a three-piece sax/trumpet/trombone for example) might give it more impact but also make it slightly less domineering. Not sure if that would be a pain in the arse to implement, or indeed if it would work. But just my instinct from a couple of listens.
And none of that should detract from the fact that I basically loved this song. Dancing in my chair over here!

Like the chorus here. There is a little space created for those rhythmic strums on the guitar. It’s catchy and a good contrast to the rest.
Reading Nadine’s post I might agree. The horns are prevalent throughout, which is not necessarily a bad thing. I don’t have clarity around it. Maybe that’s part of the reason I’m drawn to the chorus. The contrast is important so it’s hard knowing. I think Nadine’s suggestion is worth a try but trust your ears.

Oh wow this brings me back to the 70s and 80s. What a fun and busy arrangement with all these fun brasses. I especially love the guitar part. Man that's funky and cool.
On mixing: The brasses are too loud throught the whole song. Pump up the main vocal by roughly 1 dB. Have you considered panning the guitar more yo the right and parts of the brasses more on the left during the interlude? This could sound interesting. #tit4tat.

Wow, is that the new ending to the song? Really cool and quite the surprise! Love that funky rhythm guitar in this groovy Wolfchoon :)
