Feb 2022 musicals piano hopeful
Australia's response to COVID has badly damaged hospitality industries (disclosure: we have family badly affected), and no more so in Victoria, the most locked down place on earth. And it has almost totally destroyed the livelihoods of live, touring/performing musicians. @fearlessflight2014 is one such who has been badly, and I mean sorely, badly, almost terminally hit. But as with others some of whom are also here, she is fighting back hard, through the issues, the nightmares and the depression.
After our wonderful last collaboration (also derailed by all the nightmares) I asked if we could try something again this FAWM. So she called for something "Hopeful, Optimistic, slightly weary but with some fighting spirit!".
So this is it in its stage 1 piano form. I've posted it here because the song WILL metamorphose, when Liz sets her own lyrics to it, and tweaks the melody, and changes the setting. it will, indeed, grow up!
But this is the chrysalis, and worth it on its own, and especially as a salute to those who have and are being damaged, yet still fight on. Bravery takes many forms.

Definitely worth it on its own. This is beautiful, Tim.

You gave her exactly what she asked for. It couldn’t possibly be better. In fact, this is what many need right now, something beautiful, hopeful, yet very real and heart felt.

Melancholy but hopeful piano piece. I think you captured Liz's ideas. We don't hear the Aussie news over here, had no idea things were still so bad over there.

Lovely piece. I'm amazed at how prolific you guys are - only just (finally) posted my last (6th) song|!

What a coincidence. I am just writing a hopeful and optimistic song and thought maybe you would like to play piano on it, now I read your liner notes. This lovely enjoyable piece tells me you’re the right address.
What would you think about a collab in March? I am getting a scratch demo up first.
Let me know. Congrats on a successful FAWM by the way!

This is so lovely and positive sounding. Your playing is so sensitive on this, and I love the unexpected chord changes. And much love and healing to @fearlessflight2014.

You are right, this instrumental version is certainly worth standing on its own. It's very beautiful and has sadness and also as you mention, hope and strength.
