I started working on this fast punky sort of track the other day, and parked it whilst I worked on collaborations. I picked up my guitar today and started playing it in a totally different style and wrote a new bridge too, and decided to pursue it in this form instead. Decided to break out the glockenspiel and xylophone for this one.
I am soooo behind on my commenting, I'm very sorry! BUT, I'm pretty much done now, just a collaboration to upload tomorrow. I have Mon/Tue off work, so I can catch up on my listening! Thanks so much for all your comments so far..
a few ohhhs
a couple of dahs
definitely some aahhs
pretty sure there's zero mmms

Super cool. Very nice to listen to. The guitar is great. The vocals are excellent!

This has a real 60s ye-ye feel, like a lost Francoise Hardy record. The harmonies sound great, as do the jazzy guitar chords. The addition of the maraca for the end is a nice touch too.

This is fun. It's a sort of a modern take on Bacharach or Mancini incidental film music
@judypie Mar 2022
This is very, how do I say it? Plinky plonky! You sound splendid! Do you want a cup of tea up there?

Glockenspiel AND xylophone, together at last. Great whimsical jazzy feel to this one. Kinda reminds me of R.E.M.s Endgame but in a more Radioheady style. It's like the soundtrack to gnomes parading through your garden.

Mmm.

This is ace. One of my faves of yours this year actually! All those vocals layers must have taken you bloody ages to get down no? Worth it though - it's quirky and very cool is this. More ohh dah aaah tracks next year yeah?

On listen number two. Those voicings on the guitar chording are sublime, and all the progressions - especially with the immaculately choreographed harmonies - just blend and wind together so amazingly. It's no good, I'm reaching for the guitar - MUST. FIGURE. OUT. GUITAR. PART.

Very nice - super atmosphere. Love the tinkles (presume these are the xylophone or glockenspiel, whichever is the metal one).
@kendrakinsey Feb 2022
I’m inspired! Nice harms!
@vomvorton Feb 2022
This is so chilled out, the vocals remind me of the Zombies or the Beach Boys even but the music is jazzier BUT not in a bad way, despite my oft-referenced dislike of jazz. Love the xylophone, exactly the right sound this needed!

Would have liked some "mmmm"s, if just for some lyrical complexity. I don't get that feeling of playing a riff in a different way and seeing it in a completely new light, and it totally pays off here. The glockenspiel lines are soooo good.
@radiobenedetto Feb 2022
I really enjoyed this. The clean jazzy hand plucking style and chords really lends itself to some interesting harmonies. The overlapping layers of ohs, dahs and ahhs create interesting rhythmic texture as well. Infectious!

Man if this was the type of muzak I heard in the grocery story I'd shop all the time :-) So. Much. Fun. The plucky bass, the glock, the tingly bells, the multiple vocals, male and female, the builds and the mirroring, and the layering of it all, so much to keep my attention. I was not just in the grocery store but in a fun house and enjoyed every second of it!
@deena Feb 2022
So fun to break out the glockenspiel and xylophone. I'm loving the sparkle!
@santadharma Feb 2022
How could you leave out the mmms like that? lol. This is so cool! Definitely agree with the 60s backtrack feeling. Super happy vibe, like a spring day. Could see this one having a lyrical element to it as well in addition to all those lovely backing harmonies, which are so effective btw.
@tamsnumber4 Feb 2022
Love this production, feels like a backing track to a 60's movie. Love the atmosphere you created, especially with the voices, a nice listen!
