The month is winding down! Really want that trophy by my name....If you've been listening to my songs this year, thank you. My own listening has fallen behind (especially the past couple of weeks), but I fully intend on following up in March to reciprocate. 12 down, 2 more to go!
I remember when we were young
And our story had just begun
One night apart might well have been a year
Every bump felt like a wall
We were just kids, after all
With no idea the future was so near
Where does the time go?
Where does the time go?
I hope that you know
I wouldn't trade a moment I've had with you
I remember middle age
It snuck up and turned a page
And the motion started crackles down my spine
But despite all that we'd seen
Didn't feel like in between
'Cause I was still nineteen when you were by my side
Where does the time go?
Where does the time go?
I hope that you know
I wouldn't trade a moment I've had with you
I remember when we were old
And our tale was all but told
Now it seems like all we ever do is sleep
Well the years turned golden fast
Spinning silver as they passed
Still someday I've got promises to keep
Where does the time go?
Where does the time go?
I hope that you know
I wouldn't trade a moment I've had with you
Where does the time go?
Where does the time go?
I hope that you know
I wouldn't trade a moment I've had with you

Sweetly done, what a great indie pop feeling. The vocal sells it even before the band starts to build up, and when the band does build up, it's so satisfying and rewarding. All kinds of nice moments in the lyric, I think I like the gold and silver coming in in the final part, and I adore that the energy of the band does pick up again there and ends on an up energy.

I really enjoyed this. It so engaging and so well performed. Beautiful heartfelt lyric and such a lovely melody. Love your voice and how the music serves the lyric, dipping down in spots and ramping up in others. This feels like a well thought out arrangement. Wonderful song!

excellent write - the future was so near, spinning silver, etc.
wonderful progression through time and space.
deserves a bigger arrangement for the folks out there, but I enjoyed this stripped down version plenty.
a keeper, this!

Sweet song you've got here. Nice performance, vocal delivery, piano, etc. Very nice vocal delivery. The sentiment of the song is just fantastic.

Terrific. So sincere and heartfelt. I'm not quite so far into the journey,, but I'm far enough to recognize the truth in these words. "Future was so near" is a particular highlight for me.
Nice vocal performance and the melody is great. Enough moments to add sparkle, but understated enough to make the whole thing feel like a genuine dialog with your lover. Fun piano arrangement as well.
Nice work!

oh this is delightful. absolute gold
the stacatto in the verses
makes you sit up and pay attention to the lyrics
my fav lines in this beauty are:
I remember middle age
It snuck up and turned a page
And the motion started crackles down my spine...
Also, i love how you sing go in every first line of your chorus - that falsetto makes me very happy
AND did you intentionally quote a Frost poem? Cause if so, Hooray!!!
a lovely epilogue!
bravo

I love the high note in the chorus. I thought that was a beautiful melody choice. OMG, I'm writing this as I'm listening. I didn't realize the song would cover a lifetime. The air is really dry in my house, so thanks for helping me moisturize my eyes. Really great song.
