Started like a few of my songs this year with a funky drum part from the Clyde Stubblefield loops by Yurt Rock. then I wanted sparring synth bass and bass guitar parts as if they were having a bit of a competition. added keyboards and then finally bits of guitar. hoping for even better guitar collaboration to finish it off. The title was playing with RnB and BnB because the character is looking for a bed and breakfast. Quirky harmony is perhaps Zappa influence (have a listen to Kosmik Debris).
the verse chords start conventionally Bm7 A6 G6 but end first time on Ebdim7 and second time Bbaug. Chorus ascending chords are Bm7 E6/C# G6 F#7. Auto wah guitar solo tries to stick with the diminished and augmented (whole tone) harmony as best I can. Dim and aug chords are often links between more consonant chords but it’s fun to just find melodies on their own.
Sitting on the corner just
Sipping my tea
Wondering what on this earth
Is happening to me
I saw a place there
out of the corner of my eye
Where I could find some rest
And a big piece of pie
Chorus
Move it
Remove it
Don’t Groove it
You don’t belong here
Just prove it
Improve it
Don’t groove it
Just get out of here
Notwithstanding my need to remain
I recognised resistance would just be insane
My withering look conveyed my utter disdain
But all he could do was just repeat his refrain

Another great strutting groove, but this time with lyrics that have a bite to them. Harmonies on the chorus are really effective. And yes the two bass lines circling around sizing each other up is a lot of fun.

Super fun. Great groove. Love the little lead sections. Dancing over here. Chorus selection adds a nice layer, fun progression and changes!

I'm enjoying the layers as they come in. The lyric chorus has a great rhythm. Hope he found a more welcoming place to get a piece of pie. The bass line sounds warm. Harmony is nice. I enjoyed my listen.

This whole track is just stunning. I love the tone of the bass, so bright and funky, particularly on the pops, and the part itself is so complex and exciting. The lyrics are fun and the delivery is so catchy - still walking around now catching myself saying “prove it! Improve it!” randomly. The solo is a great use of auto wah and the clever use of the notes around the diminished scale are fabulous

Woah... and then the funk happened! Love the extended intro and the way it develops. the chorus is great too, sung with some gusto, love the ascending harmony.
Oh my and then comes the guitar solo, lovely work! Those drums sounds great too, cool song!

Oh yeah, so funky and jazzy. I especially love your solo with autowah effect.
