Liked this song by janeg so much, and the chorus tune just jumped at me.
Did I Catch You KNapping?
words by Jane Garthson (21. February 2022)
tune by C.J. Ueberall (26. February 2022)
Stone knappers worked with flint
Didn’t have a tool blueprint
Hold obsidian and flake and flake
So you can hunt for mammoth steak
Chorus
Did I catch you knapping?
Did I catch you playing nap?
Did you happen to be napping?
Or were you just brushing that nap?
Five winning points in your game
Might be your speedway to fame
Deal five, five tricks, high card
Choose your trump and your discard
Chorus
Hey you! - feeling tired yet
You and the cat could be a duet
Comfy couch of purrs and snores
Even better if the nap’s outdoors
Chorus
Corduroy, when rubbed, has a nap
Don’t get caught in its fuzzy trap
Rub the yarn above the weave to see
Only one direction will make it agree
able
Chorus
Did you know so many meanings for nap?
Did so many meanings make you feel like – napping?
Yawn

I love wordplay and the multiple directions it takes this song. Well done both! (@janeg, your FAWM didn't go kablooey with songs like this coming out!)

This is such a fun wander through anthropology and etymology. Feels like a gentle meandering stream of consciousness while drifting off to a nap. Glad it found it's music. The singing and playing are so soothing.

I love the word-play on knapping/napping! I ended up on a little google rabbit hole as I read up on how to play "nap" (Napolean). This was fun!
