Skirmish SS022722K "window"
I normally don't write songs quickly on the piano but I made myself do what I could in one hour. Fun challenge! Thanks @corrinnecurcio
Witness to such wondrous scenes
Not really sure what anything means
If there’s light, let it in
If there’s rain let it stay outside
Been hanging here for so many years
Through all the seasons without any fear
If there’s light, let it in
If there’s rain let it stay outside
Chorus
This is just one life
Seeing things from every side
It is simple when you follow the light
Then everything will be (HOLD) all right
V3
Staying open from morning till night
Ready for the most perfect light
If there’s light, let it in
If there’s rain let it stay outside
Bridge
Even rain won’t get us down
Let it wash over as it reaches the ground
As long as we keep it out

Such a sweet lyrical conceit matched with rolling waves of piano goodness. Very much enjoyed the listen and I appreciate you shining a little light into my world. :)

That piano refrain is beautiful, and your performance is full of sensitivity. The vocal too is really well measured, and the backing vocal line introduced later on in the song really brings that extra touch of sweetness that makes the whole listen very satisfying. Really, really like this one.

I love imposed time constraints! They really are great for practice and make you make choices that might not happen if you gave yourself all the time in the world. This is an impressive write/performance! Piano sounds wonderful, the harmonies really got me. Solid lyrics. Enjoyed very much! #tit4tat

So beautiful! Love the perspective sentiment that is so gorgeously delivered with the lovely piano and your vocals! Nice harmonies. Brilliant skirmish!
@andyt13 Feb 2022
Lovely!
@danvaillancourt Feb 2022
Great reminder. Nice performance and playing. If there’s light, let it in!
@berty38 Feb 2022
I really love the rhythmic choices you made, and your posted lyrics slipped in a note (HOLD) that reveals how thoughtful you are about these. The way you time the words in your lines makes them so powerful. I’m really impressed and inspired to try to do that as well as you do here and in your other songs I’ve listened to.

Wow, this is packed with emotion. I hear this as a theatrical number, which I love. Beautiful piano and vocals. Really nice skirmish.
@wylddandelyon Feb 2022
Ah, yes, the purpose of a window:
If there’s light, let it in
If there’s rain let it stay outside
Lovely piano playing, and a very nice song. I like the harmonies too, but I'm a harmony junkie, so that's no surprise.
@jwhanberry Feb 2022
I think the piano makes this track. It gives a big, solid foundation for the vocal. Good skirmishing.
@crutherford Feb 2022

So glad you pushed yourself on the piano for this one, so nice to hear the rolling arpeggios on this beautiful track. Very atmospheric and the piano is a wonderful accompaniment to your vocals. I love the harmonies and the lyrics are super, I love that reoccurring hook ‘ If there’s light, let it in. If there’s rain let it stay outside’

Its funny, a few of my musical friends love and use guitars mostly, you and tjeff being prime examples but honestly i love your piano songs most! This has a gentleness that the piano either provides or draws you down a different creative path. This is a lovely song, music , vocal, harmonies the lot. Lovely Susan
@sunfire Feb 2022
Good lyric, vocals and piano. Enjoyed listening.
@misterdemp Feb 2022
