OK, confession, most the chord structure and some melody was conceived prior to FAWM 2022. I figured, I could either start something that I'm not going have time to turn into anything worthwhile (don't worry - one of those is still coming!), or work on something I actually like!
Once again, the lyric is courtesy of @adamdale78 - working his magic of turning a bunch of mumbled vowels and consonants contained in a melody idea into meaningful ambiguity.
Hail London, ruler of hours
Who found me down and out
And so wise, you spare me hanging
So I came here to die
And when we aren't asleep
We're out on the wall
Ordinary and old
The wrong and the young
Oh, we are allowed
Ohhhhhhhh, air and rain
And solid ground
Oh too much
Too much allowed
Too much allowed
We wear it on our sleeves
We're the mark on the wall
All alone in our way
We all have our part
And not an inch of doubt
And when they're on their way
And the ringing of the bell
Order in the pails
There's a fire raining down
On the ruler of the hours

Really enjoy the development in this song, the shaker coming in at around a minute really built momentum... a small thing but really works. Great melody and singing, the words fit perfectly, interesting way of collaborating. Turning a mumble into a lyric, sounds great!
I wasn't expecting the explosion into the glorious 360 splendour (I was wondering what was going to happen for the final 2.5 mins :)) You have a great sound there, the organ screams particularly beautifully. Great stuff!

Wow, beautiful. Feel like I just discovered a new Elliott Smith record. Top notch sound and performance, I especially love the slide guitar. You sure can sing.

This is fantastic. Want to listen all day... the lyrics and music create an incredible space. I am inspired by your instrumentation. Well done! And... I don't think confessions are necessary. Who doesn't have tons of starts to finish? They count!

Beautiful song, the melody suits the contemplative lyrics

What a luscious bass sound. This is so nicely done.
That heavy kicks in. Awesome.
Walking through filthy Melbourne A Monday morning on my way to work. This is perfect.
@fonte Feb 2022
Absolutely. Bloody. Awesome.

Thanks for being honest. It's pretty hard to write tons of good song in a month. This year I also picked up an chord progression which didn't sound like a song last year. And I'm okay.
@halfwayhome turned @adamdale78 lyrics into a real good song. You just nailed the contemplative mood and then mid-way the guitar go whoom! I didn't expect this energy. So many details in this song... background choir, interesting guitar bendings, cool drum fills. I feel like I listen to a very strong collab of two very talented musicians. Thanks.
