Feb 2022 pop backbeat weekend woes
A little ditty
You don’t remember a thing
But you’re sure you had a good time
You don’t remember a thing
But you’re down to your last dime
Before you woke in the morning
You were living out your dreams
Where anything was possible
And nothing what it seemed
Now it’s the end of the weekend
And Monday’s looming large
The worst day of the week
The day you have to take charge
You don’t remember a thing
But you know that it must have happened
You don’t remember a thing
Not knowing leaves you saddened
You don’t remember a thing
You don’t remember a thing
You don’t remember a thing
You don’t remember a thing

This reminds me of a story my stepfather told a business trip he took. He woke up with no memory of the entire previous week, but he had a closet full of new clothes and had made every meeting and no one was aware that he was totally unaware!! That was the great awakening for him. He turned himself around after that.
This is really well written and your performance is spot on. I’m glad I got to hear this one!

I've had a few of those weekends! I like that you capture the flipside of those types of weekends with the line, "Not knowing leaves you saddened." This is well crafted and performed.
