For the skirmish prompt - "No"
No! ©J Challis 2022
No! and you know why
So, so don’t cry
It’s just the way it has to be
Go, and you know why
So, Just leave, bye bye
No, I’m not taking you back, you lied
Stop pleading
You deceived me
I know about your infidelity
Tuck your tail
No get outta jail
Take control of your accountability
You’re a mess
But it’s my distress
So I’m making a stand
Off your knees
I’ve seen what I’ve seen
And I’m making a plan
On your bike
Yeah take a hike
You don’t deserve my time

I like the way your voice lands with "No" in the refrain, and your lyrics have a nice directness that is refreshing. Nice job with the skirmish.

Haha yes sometimes you just have to say no exactly like this. The lyrics are a bit different then in the demo

I love the doubled vocals over that mellow guitar. Great chord progression, too. Has a bit of a 90's feel.

This is great! I really love this lyric - the clarity in the concise simplicity and honest directness in the delivery. Really wonderful music with a great groove and cool guitar riff and wonderful vocals. Well done!

Good rhythm and feel. I think the lying lover was the most common take on this prompt but you're managed to make it an empowering statement. I like the phrasing, the succinct No! and how you echo it in the next line with So. Feels good.

The lyrics are clear about the topic. The rhythm in them is great . I think that’s because the staccato ‘ no’ really underpins the message

I think this is great! Great guitar and vocals. Good skirmish!

I like the three different rhythms of the guitar, the drum beat and your lyrics. And the contrast between those quick short bitten off endings on the o-words that feel like they're all saying Nope. And then the stretched out slithery snake in the grass esss sounds about the other person. Nice recording and writing.
