Not a true story, of course, but "never let the truth get in the way of a good song"...
On the other hand, we all have regrets, including me, so it comes from an honest place.

Verse 1
This summer storm’s
Got me wondering where you are
A year’s gone by
Since you kicked me outta your car
You threw my hat into the breakdown lane
Drove off like a hurricane
Left me standing in the pouring rain
Pre-chorus
Now I’m living my reality
My life without you loving me
Chorus
Some nights I drift off to a town
Where I never let you down
There’s a you and me that didn’t end
A place where you love me again
And you always will
In IfOnlyVille
Verse 2
I wonder if you’ll ever see this letter
But if you do I hope it finds you better
I’m sorry that I broke your heart
You showed me all my ugly parts
I’m trying hard to make brand new start
Pre-chorus
But I’m living my reality
A life without you loving me
Repeat Chorus
Bridge
I want you to be happy and be free
And maybe someday soon you’ll find
A way to forgive me
Repeat Chorus

Great visuals here, and I love the flow of the story throughout the song. It's a different take on the standard story, and works really well.

The concept of "IfOnlyVille" is classic country, and the verses tell the story well. The narrative voice seems to have a good sense of regret!
