I think the challenge speaks for itself. This is what came of it, though it's paired with having just watched season #1 of true detectives, so who knows? I may listened to it tomorrow and delete it!
The Ones Who Slip Away
These fields running empty
Sidewalks blown with autumn cold
Avoid the forlorn riverbanks
And the secrets they may hold
Fill the dim lit corridors
With the screeching of a crow
And the prayers
We can’t bring ourselves to say
We’re the ones who slip away
For the ones who slip away
I hear their voices echo
From the edges of my mind
To reach with weathered fingers
Through the shallow depths of time
Is this purgatory’s silence
Of memory’s decay?
Is that the gift you’ve left for me today?
For the ones who slip away
The ones who slip away
An altar packed with candles
To flood the dark
‘Neath the solitary fortress
In this god forsaken park
Eyes still shine from billboards
Though the edges start to fray
Lost but not forgotten, gone astray
We’re the ones who slip away (2x)
Embrace the lonely evenings
And these windows streaked with rain
I hope to greet tomorrow
With more kindness and less shame
For the journey is unending
Until the judgement day
Where our shadow legion patiently awaits
We’re the ones who’ve slipped away (2x

Stellar lines! Your use of language is so unique and clearly a Lucas Rotman signature. This piece is excellent. No throw aways here my friend!
What a cool musical groove. Tasty chords and licks and your voice always delivers. It's a good one!

Sounds like a fun challenge. I'd be lucky if I could sing and play like this after some drinks. You got the blues. I feel them. The licks around 2:50 and humming in the end are so cool.
You remind me, that I have to fetch something. FAWMover. We made 14 songs. Cheers.
And did you enjoy your song 1-2 days later?
