Feb 2022 indie-rock doorstep threshold just-do-it
Adnama17: Rob gave me this backing track... oh hell, I don't know. Recently? It's just now speaking to me, so here we are. _insert boring commentary about how I wrote the lyrics here_ Despite the rumors, working with Rob is an enjoyable waste of time. :)
guatecoop: This was a song that I offered up in the early Spring, maybe April? It hadn't been used by anyone for vocals, so I figured that she might like it. She ended up liking it--and hating it because she kept saying that it would stick in her head, kind of yelling at her to sing on it! Well, this is really cool and great to finally have the song live in peace....Hehe, or is that Amanda?!?! Well, either way it turned out great! It is very strange to see this song in 22, but I'm glad that it was inspiring....or nagging...I'm not sure which. Amanda?
V1
Blink
Wipe the sleep from my eyes
PC
On the doorstep
My feet catch
Gazing east
Stuck in west
V2
Peek
Out of my front door
Behind
All of my before
PC
On the doorstep
My feet catch
Gazing east
Stuck in west
On the threshold
End? Begin?
Up or down?
Grace or sin?
C
Rapture wheat from chaff
Stumble down
Stumble down
Capture every laugh
Tumble on
Tumble on
V3
Step
Just one foot, then the next
B
Fire behind me
Shadows cast before
Gotta stand up
Gotta stretch my legs
Gotta break my neck
Gotta break my neck
Gotta break my neck
Fall towards the light
And blink my eyes

I really like the guitar sound. Kind a jangly but chunky as well. I can see why you had to see this through. It's a great backing track. I like bass slides. They add a nice oomph and bounce that adds to the guitar/snare beat. Great vibe to the vocals . . . there's little Natalie Merchant in there. Great collab!

This one was certainly a pleasant surprise to find. What a solid backing track of jangly guitars, sweet bass, and rock solid drums. I could contemplate the philosophical -isms looking for hidden meanings in the lyric, or I could just wallow in the 90's-ness. I choose the latter. Super collab!

I like the short lines and the mood at the end, cool instrumental shifts and nice job placing the vocal in all the right places. Nice collab!

I always love Rob’s music and Amanda did a great job with the vocals, totally cool collaboration!

Cool rhythm and good sound here, and the shotgun-short lyric works well. I like the one-thing-at-a-time lyric. Sometimes I wonder why I don't fall down the stairs when I wake up, then I realise because I'm automatically clutching the bannisters. Blink! Good stuff! [Comment no. 500!]
