I've had this riff for awhile. The first line sort of set the tone, so sorry if it's a bit of a downer song.
Recorded in my DAW, but was having some troubles with my settings.
Extreme Forces
Don't look up the sky is falling
And the wind's a-howling
Mothers scream, babes bawling
Can no longer pretend, darkness will descend
Could this be the end?
Don't look down the water's raging
Protests, people staging
Extreme forces engaging
Can no longer pretend, darkness will descend
Could this be the end?
Then there's all the good people fighting for a change
Governments and steeples trying to rearrange
No matter how they try, things are still the same
No one takes the blame
Don't breathe in, fires are burning
It's all talk, no learning
Good old days' yearning
Can no longer pretend, darkness will descend
Could this be the end?
Then there's all the good people fighting for a change
Governments and steeples trying to rearrange
No matter how they try, things are still the same
No one takes the blame

timely and relevant - captures the sociopolitical angst of our time. Nice guitar riff!

Good write: the particular imagery works well with the overall theme. Cool contrast between verse and chorus melody / accompaniment.
