The Sir Douglas Quintet being unavailable to cut this track, you're stuck with just me :-)
the house is crowded
the shouts are shouted
the work zoom's even worse
you decide to do some house cleaning
your old bank statements - throw them away!
your old love letters - keep 'em!
they're what you'll be needing
World Coming Down's in extra innings
the Series is only beginning
& you're stuck with two loves
Such a drag to know
"too much" has nothing to do with "enough"
kiss them both, kiss them both, kiss them both
fv%k the meeting
fv%k*** zoom won't be at your side
when your heart stops beating
the doom is sprouted
the future's routed
the good stuff's even worse
two loves is such a drag to handle
baby it just don't matter
the only way to screw this dark
is with more than one candle
kiss them both, kiss them both, kiss them both
awwww, fv%k the meeting
fv%k*** zoom won't be at your side
fv%k*** zoom won't be at your side
when your heart stops beating
kiss them both, kiss them both, kiss them both
awwww, fv%k the meeting
fv%k*** zoom won't be at your side
fv%k*** zoom won't be at your side
when your heart stops beating

Nice and funy ! Uplifting music and funy lyrics made my mood better.
My favorite lines : "your old bank statements - throw them away! / your old love letters - keep 'em! / they're what you'll be needing".
This song calls for dance. Can't decide if we should dance twist or jerk on it...
@gm7 Mar 2022
Yeah..i love this old school sound. excellent !
@markg Mar 2022
I love this retro sound. Sir Douglas would approve.
Two is better than none, so says the character, and who would disagree?
@vomvorton Mar 2022
oh my god that chorus! I was already loving this because of the killer organ and those cute little melodies between lines and then "fucking zoom won't be at your side when your heart stops beating"... hahahaha wow. I love this! and the harmonised "aaaaaaaaaahh!" is just the best thing.
@cts Mar 2022
Welp - this is all kinds of cool. That aaaaaah vocal slide/flip had me all giddy and what not. I love the tight arrangement, too. I'm groovin' and I'm humming along as well.
I'm happy!
@williamjames Mar 2022
Very cool melody and instrumentation. Such a great synth line constantly chipping in the background :) The lyrics flow very well in a very unconventional way, it just ends up rhyming in the end although while listening it feels like it won't. I am probably explaining that poorly but cannot come up with a better way... Great memorable chorus, a very good song overall!
@bithprod Mar 2022
Did you check with Texas Tornados? ;) Great melody, just great! I want to listen to this again and again. Get it on radio asap!
@audrey Mar 2022
Another great melody, catchy and lively. Fun lyric that makes you want to sing along. A very entertaining song.
@mikeskliar Mar 2022
wow, what a farfisa (?) blast in every way! love this, you channeled that sir doug q as well as that feeling of 'f this' so many of us have... what a great exuberant vocal, too- perfect!!!
@headfirstonly Mar 2022
Yes. So much this. Kiss them both!
If ever there was a line that sums up the last few horrendous years, it's "the work zoom's even worse." I love the sentiment in this, and the chorus is just one gloriusly sweary hook from start to finish. This has already been downloaded into my "Best of FAWM 2002" folder.
@greengrassgirl Mar 2022
I enjoyed this--the vibe, the attitude. Nice job! Thanks for your comments on @PaulHarrison's version of Somethin' Better. That's what brought me here to your page. One of the great things about FAWM!
@sherrycanary Mar 2022
This is one of the most enjoyable songs I have heard on FAWM
I love the music
The lyrics are gold
Love the the aaaaaa vocal slide
and it's funny.
What more could one ask
@toms Mar 2022
Seems pretty totally tex mex to me! Awesome poppy-ness!
@yewnorker Mar 2022
This was a nice listen. I like the sound of this.
@zeekle1998 Mar 2022
Nice groove. That vocal build up is spot on. I also appreciate your attitude to Zoom. I might try this chorus in my next zoom meeting. Great stuff
@chipwithrow Mar 2022
End-of-the-world good times! That's a swell organ sound, and delightful vocals. Groovy!
@doglatin Feb 2022
This was perfect for getting me going on a Monday morning. Fortunately I don't have an fv%king zoom meetings today, hooray! I will give this another listen, and then I might have to find some Sir Doug to listen to for a while. The organ sound is great, as are your harmony vocals, in all the right places. I'm pumped and ready for the day, thank you!
@rickatfulcrum Feb 2022
You could have chosen She's About A Mover for your model, which would have been the obvious choice.. instead you opted for Mendocino, my favorite Sir Doug song, so you had me right there —and you totally nailed the vibe. The Augie-style Vox organ flourishes make the instrumental arrangement. The cheeky lyrics and the gusto behind hook "awwwww fuck the meeting" sell it. (NB it wants some party hearty mariachi horns!)
@beat Feb 2022
The Sir Douglas Quinted… hahahaa… such a long time ago.
Mind you, I prefer your wording much more!
Very cool track. Very cool!
Thank you for the music and the words.
@simonwaldram Feb 2022
...and "the only way to screw this dark is with more than one candle" is an amazing line!"
@simonwaldram Feb 2022
So catchy! A classic 60s sound with modern lyrics. Great swearing too!
@pumpkinhead Feb 2022
Fuck zoom! Fuck corona! And now also Fuck Putin! Great song about the frustration many of us feel. The song breath frustration.
Take care. Peace
@swampjaw Feb 2022
Well, I'm laughing my ass off. There are some really great lines here -- "too much has nothing to do with enough." Yeah, I think I know that one.
The pandemic sucks, but at least we got some good music.
@monty Feb 2022
Aww man... Love it. Just what I needed.
@standup Feb 2022
Fun tune. I like Doug Sahm, so this works for me. "Do your thing Augie!"
I like the chorus, kiss them both, fuck the meeting...
So I guess we're looking for more candles.
But I wish Augie had a little more room to do his thing here.
@hornesgiftshop Feb 2022
I love a Farfisa and I'd love to go to Mendocino. Great taste and a surefire Fawm hit. Good stuff.
