Feb 2022 pop change-of-scene panorama exhilaration hill-climb get-more-exercise
The muse is a funny bugger. After three hours of hard struggling as I put together song 33, song 34 arrived fully-formed in my head completely unexpectedly. Cockney Geezer shading imperceptibly into Sarf London Bloke and Beckenham resident...
I've always loved climbing hills for the view you get from the top. And I have a favourite hill near me in Wotton-Under-Edge which has a spectacular view of the Severn Valley and yes, you can really see my house from the top, look:
When it seems that everything has got too much
When my step has lost its spring, I lose my touch
I've had enough of all the drama
I make sure I can spend some time outside my hutch
where I can find a hill to climb—on top of such
I'll just enjoy the panorama
Need some animation
When I'm feeling blue
Gain some elevation
breathe out, take in the view
Kiss goodbye to doubt and fear
I'm heading off where the air is clear
Things aren't as bad as they appear
'cos you can see my house from here!
I need to skeet out of my seat; lunchtime is due
Keep things sweet; I don't compete, and nor should you
It helps to make me more reflective
Turn up the heat? Ignore defeat! It's what I do
Won't miss a beat, just use my feet, amend the view
by simply changing my perspective

Wow. What a beautiful view and a stunning song. I listened while washing up after dinner, and this bouncy Buddhist tune helped make doing the dishes feel sublime. The word hutch made me think of rabbits which spun me towards this being one of the rabbits from Watership Down singing.

I like the in-between speech and song sound of your voice here. You're giving some great creative advice here as well :) Do you like Moondog at all? I'm reminded of him in theme
@davidsnyder Mar 2022
Really cool song!!! I want to bookmark your site and listen to more. Great sound here.
@santadharma Mar 2022
That looks like a lovely hill to climb! Love the concept and the chord progression/vocal delivery is top notch!! "amend the view by sampling changing my perspective" is a really fantastic line.
@williamjames Mar 2022
Very cool guitars! Loved the sound and the driving riff! Very dark sounding vocals and the semi spoken word delivery hits the spot for this style. Very toe tapping song!
@sheilerk Mar 2022
I enjoyed the panorama! Beautiful view. I really love the repeat of the line" You can see my house from here". I know that's going to get stuck in my head!! This is bouncy, uplifting fun, and super good advice!
@jamkar Mar 2022
Yes, here’s to reflection! Takes me outdoors where I belong. Great walking song.
@thedutchwidows Mar 2022
Excellent! Perfect sentiment - a walk always helps me, although we live at the top of a hill so can’t look down on our house. Love the bass in this - throbs in. Very pleasing way! Very nicely done.
@jacobeverettwallace Mar 2022
Love the crunchy bounciness you've achieved here! I very much enjoyed this. I needed to hear this today. Fun tune!
@musicsongwriter Mar 2022
I like the groovy and funky feel in your song. Sounds fun and interesting to follow.
@ayehahmur Mar 2022
Well this is quirky, Chris! Lots to love about it, especially that main guitar line which rolls along so much purprose. Lots to enjoy about the lyrics too, and a good life lesson to take away! Lots of fun.
And with that said, I see that lunchtime is due, so I'm shortly going to skeet out of my seat and take your advice.
@mosley Feb 2022
Love the positive vibe of this one, totally cool piece!
@heliosonorous Feb 2022
A peaceful and home style track, well done homage!

;].
Yes. Xactly.
Where I grew up, a long time ago… you (me) had to hike up a mountain to find out that there’s more than just the valley with the lake. Only one road in or out.
So, climbing up hills and hiking from mountain to mountain was part of my dna.
Nowadays I use the sub…
Very nice track indeed.

Just listened to your "Strung Out" song before this, and this is so different! The rock muscle is still there, but even with the genuine sense of swagger this maintains, this is plainly a lot more warm and inviting. (I'm not going to say "more fun," though; "Strung out" was plenty fun!) Your vocals have a wonderful sense of playfulness to them at places that really shine through and bring a huge smile to my face!

Oh wow, I've got a half finished lyric with this title. Mine is from the point of view of a roofer looking out over a small town.
@coolparadiso Feb 2022
I love the title assume it comes from the old joke! I love your vocal delivery on this! Oh to the wind in your hair and a panorama! Lovely.
@nadine Feb 2022
This is arousing my wanderlust. Though I'm a couch potato. Fun upbeat instrumental and your spoken vocals are pleasant to listen to.
