Feb 2022 power-pop harmonies girls
Arthur Rossi wrote these wonderful lyrics that I think are great. I'm glad that I got to do another collab with dear Arthur. I think the first one we did was in 2013 50/90 called "Dynamite". I was a little tired earlier today but working on this song gave me strength and I think this is one of my favorite demos this Fawm for the overall production. Hope the Telecaster is not too shrill...
Also inspired by Weekly Challenge like my first song "Foxy Eyes", the chorus anyway. Thank you, Mr. Rossi, sir. You are an inspiration. :)
There are good girls
when they kiss
their make-up never blurs
they live as saints, their love is faint
by day, they work, they sleep by night
and none of them knows how to love me right
while I die of boredom…
Oh, give me a bad girl!
that uses her fancy
that will keep on dancing
on the table in my room
Oh, give me a bad girl!
that knows what I’m yearning
that will keep me burning
my fifty-dollar bills…!
Those dolls of wax
they veg out
pay their bills and pay their tax
they don’t have fun, they live like nuns
by day, they work, they sleep by night
and none of them knows how to love me right
while I die of boredom…
Oh, give me a bad girl!
who uses her fancy,
that will keep on dancing
on the table in my room…
Oh, give me a bad girl!
who knows what I’m yearning
that will keep me burning
my fifty-dollar bills…!

Not too shrill, I love that Tele chirp but I'm biased- that's my main axe and took me years to find after playing gibsons and finding they never suited me.
Such a great 60s pop feeling- reminds me of something Gram might have written for the Byrds with it's tongue in cheek, transgressive tone. This is a fun one :)

Master of flow and cadence. Man, you're dragging us into the 60s and it's so nice. Manfred Man, the Hollies, the Kinks... names that come to mind. And you can't go wrong with Arthur as an inspirator. Very peculiar intro, repeating it totally works. You know how to write them songs!

Fun lyrics and elaborate arranged & produced!

Absolutely love the lyric, especially grabbed by "while I die of boredom…"
Klaus' harmonies and melodic arrangement nail the whole sentiment wonderfully. Delightful, playful and just keeps you smiling and tapping along. Love the tones you get of your telecaster!

So jangly! So... Fender-y! So good! The production is so crisp and full of life! Love the throwback power pop elements; everything is spot on. Lyrically it's like a slightly naughty update of "California Girls."

Ah yes, this is such a great song! Love the rock feel and the delivery! I like the contrasts that you develop in the lyric.

What a Beatleesque opening! Then a real Kinks feel to the verse and we're back to John Lennon on the Chorus. Love the arrangement.
