Long winters with not many shows = not enough adult interaction for me. Being an extrovert and accostomed to running full-speed through life then being thrust into a pandemic was a shocking adjustment. There have been many good things that have come out of slowing down but there are times I REALLY need to get out of my house. And honestly, I'm not lonely 95% of the time, but it was interesting to explore that facet of my emotional being here in song.
Chorus
Lonely, why don’t you leave me alone
I can see you’ve gotten quite attached to me
but it’s time for you to go
Lonely, why can’t you let me be
I can’t be your miserable company anymore
Verse 1
Some people thrive in the quiet
some creatures prefer the dark
But I don’t know how to live
with a solitary heart
Some may do their best work
when left to their own devices
But when it’s me myself and I
I can’t pay you what the price is
Chorus
Verse 2
Still as stone on these city streets
as strangers pass me by
Wish I could unlock a friendly face
or catch a caring eye
I get stuck inside this head of mine
too scared to speak my name
Afraid of being a burden
so I guess that I can’t blame you lonely
BRIDGE
This separation is so long overdue
but I need to leave myself to leave you
Chorus

Great opening lyric: "Lonely - why don't you leave me alone". I love the inherent contradiction. Superb vocals and guitar work. And a very well produced recording. There is so much great material on FAWM that doesn't get the attention it deserves. Cheers!

Love the feeling and vulnerability that comes through in this lyric. Lovely delivery. This makes me smile as I would love to stay holed up alone or with a couple of other people. The lift of restrictions and of having to go out in the world again is creating anxiety! I hope you get out soon! And I hope I can hide away for a bit longer.
