Feb 2022 s022622 skirmish love-song
Thanks to @ajna1960 for the one hour skirmish prompt "silly love song." Arm injured so just another song frame with LH piano.
When the hole puncher leaks, it falls
like snow on the ground
And you say let’s film it
Then we add sound
We’ll do a stop animation
and watch just for ourselves
of two figures dancing
in the paper circles
that are
falling falling falling in love
When shadows come at angles
through the window
so the trees dance among the
architectural lines
We will take a cell video
and watch just for ourselves
of our two shadows dancing
in the leaves’ impressions
that are
falling falling falling in love
When the humidifier spews
a steam like dry ice
we imagine we’re on stage
rock stars for a day
We’ll make a music video
and watch just for ourselves
of two figures jumping off
a stage which is a bed
and they’re
falling falling falling in love
When we have some balloons
blow them up to play inside
We’ll do a mock sportscast
of a brand new sport
in a perfect announcers voice
hitting them back and forth
and pretend to dive as
and watch just for ourselves
as we’re
falling falling falling in love

Excellent LH accompaniment! I think the simplicity of the song gives it its charm. Chromatic chord progressions are so refreshing, no? Well done!
@nancycunning Feb 2022
Oh, I love the explicit images and the circly music like ice skating an pirouetting downstairs....You can see why anyone would fall in love with these sweet quirky characters. Great work.
@stuartbenbow Feb 2022
I love the whimsical imagery used in this. Everyday stuff showcasing the fall into love. Great write.
@feb21sundari Feb 2022
A great mix between spoken word and singing. I love the "falling, falling in love" thats catchy and paints a unique picture of love, to go deeper and deeper into the relation.
@taracraig Feb 2022
the descending melody line paired with "falling, falling, falling in love" works so well! Excellent take on the prompt!
@unknownbecky Feb 2022
Wow, I really like both your idea and how you executed it so much. I'll be thinking all day of those stop motion characters falling in love beneath a snow of hole-punched circles. It's so impressive how you managed to take complicated scenes like that and get them across with relatively few words. Really well done.
@prsongsmith Feb 2022
I'm falling, falling, falling in love with this song! So playful and sharply drawn -- and packed with great images from start to finish. The piano accompaniment is great, too -- especially the way the music "falls" along with the refrain. Brilliant.
@kristi Feb 2022
The lyric has some great descriptions going on and aligning it all with falling in love works so nicely! I like how it pauses on the "falling, falling, falling" line with the hook. Fun piano and vocal.

The whimsey of this tune is whisking me away to a lovely mood. A great walk through the imagination of two lovers who have fun in their own world together. It's funny without being ridiculous, sweet without being tacky. Very well done.
@tjeff Feb 2022
Well you do great with that left-hand piano. Hope your injury is not too serious. A sweet, theatrical sort of song to my ear. Good imagery in the lyric that's very relatable. Good skirmish!
@writeandwrong Feb 2022
First of all, sorry to hear about your arm! This is sweet, almost something that would be sung in a theatrical play. Lots of wonderful visionary images going on and you have epitomized the emotions of the beginnings of falling in love so nicely here. Excellent skirmish!!
@andygriff Feb 2022
I wish I could play as well with two hands as you did with one! A silly, romantic and hopeful take on the prompt. Fine job once again.
@ajna1960 Feb 2022
Such a diverse and different take for a love song. It's beautiful, and yes, very romantic. You manage incredibly well with just one had. I suspect when you are given the other one back you won't know what to do with it.

Great images of a couple just enjoying themselves and life. Catchy little number too. Thumbs firmly UP
