So i nearly managed a Karl and guitar acoustic. oooo was so close then i whacked on a harp and some strings at the end ;-) .
And still don't worry other collabers there's more to come.
This just sort of fell out of me so fast music wise and i kind of knew the theme i wanted to sing about and the words literally took about 10 minutes so of course it had to be completed.
This FAWM has been a lot of in depth stuff lyrics wise and chatting to my lovely fellow FAWMER @natalie she found the same, and as i have always said its important just to go with the flow of whatever needs to come out be it reflective past things or inner reflections if needs be.
Anyway, there's defo been plenty of that from me and even though there's more collabs to come i want to thank everybody for all their amazing FAWM support,and comments (i have a lot to catch up and am taking the first week of march as dedicated listening whilst i finish up writing recording) and for helping make this one of my most successful FAWMs ever.
Big love goes out to all you special people xxxx
Verse
When you come with a stroke of my heart
see things as they did start
Then recall something was said
that made you weep
Go pretending nothing was wrong
you cried but still went along
I was blind to all things between the two roses
of a love incomplete
Chorus
could i say sorry for all of the heartache
not when i lived in a land of unknowing
but we are mirrors so the time was coming
when i would end up in a place
with identical black holes around
with identical black holes around
Verse 2
So lets be allowed to reveal
shame hurt and all jealousy
we both know its part of our soul
thats still yearning and learning
but we know the futures untold
live life no regrets getting old
we'll find a place in our hearts
where those roses realigned will feel real
Chorus 2
Then time will bring changes and realisations
so what is the secret of all things enduring
something so pure like the flow of the river
can only be found when we took
a pain trodden path all around
now together we'll feel known ground
of those identical black holes we found
of those identical black holes we found

I'm back again. This song is a journey, yep, still beautiful.

Sometimes songs just hit and you've got no option. Just think if you'd put this aside for a while, it'd be totally lost! That's a killer chorus with the jazz sequences. mmm. I wish I'd written this! "we'll find a place in our hearts/where those roses realigned will feel real " that resonates...but it takes a long time and a lot of work and love in my experience. Worth it though. I appreciate the hope and sentiment in this. (yes, adding the strings at the end built this up. But it would equally well have worked with just guitar and solo voice. Or a symphony orchestra and massed choir for that matter!) [held this comment back for a while so it can be my 700th milestone! The song deserves it]

Wow, so beautiful, what a build in the song...I need to listen to this again....
@chipwithrow Mar 2022
Wow! Such cool chord changes, yet also countrified enough that you could stick a pedal steel in there.
Harp, strings and backing vocals are downright heavenly. Lyrics speak to me and my life philosophy (ever-evolving), too.

'Karl and guitar'. Lol. With the harmonies, there's got to be at least 3-4 Karls. And the guitar's double-tracked, right? Anyway, it's a damn fine song. I love the use of the minor change at the end of certain sections, it's right up my street. And it all feels so from the heart too. You're a genius for spewing these out so quickly. Well done man!

Very beautiful song and demo, Karl. Your singing and playing are superb and very moving. I love the title and the way your song "grows". Beautiful work full of imagery and fresh feelings of love.

Karl, I think these are some of my favorite vocals of yours that I’ve ever heard — and that’s saying a lot! But there’s so much depth to them (both literally and figuratively). It’s lovely to get a chance to hear you in a more “stripped down” production. Really lets your soul shine through! And yes, we’ve been through a lot this FAWM, which has made it all the more powerful and important an experience, I think. I’m so glad I got to share this journey with you again this year! (If we can't be on the island together, then this is a very good second-best!)

guy-with-guitar indeed! And what nice guitars they are - so gentle and sweet. Another great melody here and production. Soul searching lyrics too. Really great song Karl!
@cindyrella Feb 2022
So beautiful! That chorus really grabbed me! I've got to keep trying to listen to more!
@kenmattsson Feb 2022
This is so cool. Very deep lyrics on this, and I love your vocal delivery. The instruments are solid too.

Top work buddy. A few unexpected chord changes here that I delighted in! Great lyrics and a really compelling melody. The strings you added at the end there are really effective so it was a good move I reckon. Lovely stuff :-)

Heavenly delight, perfect for a Sunday morning. Lovely chord changes and the sparse arrangement works beautifully with those rich, heartfelt harmonies.
So many inspiring songs on your list, will definitely be re-listening thoroughly throughout March.
Quality work, mate

Interesting and beautiful lyrics and story. Always love hearing the multiple, layered vocals, oohs and ahs.
