Mom life definitely feels like you're a salmon swimming upstream. It's exhausting. And guess what happens to mama salmon after she gets her babies up river to fresh water? She DIES, that's what. The whole survival of her species depends on this; fortunately, however, we as humans have the capacity to stop and take a break before we break. This song is a little bit of self love for all us exhausted mamas. Take care!
Like a salmon struggling to swim upstream
She can be her own worst enemy
Pushing herself to her limit
Until she’s spent all her energy
Take a break
Refill that tank
Take a break
Don’t break your back
Returning to the fresh water river
She’s got her eggs to deliver
She won’t see the day when they hatch
Those salmon babies will all outlive her
Take a break
Refill that tank
Take a break
Don’t break your back
Exhaustion serves no one
I caution you to slow down
Often in the long run
Softening helps us grow strong
Take a break
Refill that tank
Take a break
Don’t break your back

This is amazing! The way you've built all the sounds here and differentiated each section of the song is just brilliant. I love the chorus, how full it is with all the synths and the ooohs. And I'm so glad that you are willing to refill your tank because I'd like to have many, many years together with you!

haha, YES. It's never-ending isn't it? This is soft and special. I love the slow drums and guitar strumming. The bell synths and harmonies in the chorus are a lovely touch.
