Feb 2022 celtic instrumental rock bluegrass americana country
This is an instrumental I've been working on for awhile. I thought I would finish lyrics for it during FAWM but I spent too much time on the music so I'm just gonna post it as an instrumental.
To be kind to you I have linked the short version above but just in case you wanted to hear the whole thing it is here,

I have some in progress but was not satisfied with them and time's running out! So I might add them later or I might finish them at 50/90!
@nancycunning Mar 2022
This sounds great. Look forward to hearing the lyrics if you add them at 50/90.
@chipwithrow Mar 2022
Yes! Big, bold and anthemic - who needs lyric/vocal?
Now, that's some fiddling - darn near heavy metal. Fitting that I'm enjoying this the day before St. Patrick's Day.
@tamsnumber4 Mar 2022
I LOVE IT, what is this magic? Now, I totally want to hear this with words, but it does stand on its own also, but this feels so good to me, what a wonderful atmosphere and production. I love this Celtic sound and would love to hear you in it...that was great!!
@wylddandelyon Mar 2022
This is fun. It made me do finger dances and confuse the cat. (If I was less sleepy I might have been doing real dancing instead.)

@auditasum Mar 2022
I'm hooked as soon as the violin comes in. Perfect title for this celtic-rock fusion too.
@cheslain Mar 2022
Amazing fiddling! I really enjoy the mixture of rock backing and the bluegrassy/folky/celticy fiddle. Great composition that somehow feels both simple and intricate.
@timfatchen Mar 2022
A @johnstaples instrumental! Envy at that fiddle...! This stands as a dance piece but like others I would like to hear lyrics over it. Anyway, I've run off with the longer version for now!
@karlsburg25 Mar 2022
Oh wow straight to the full version John. Is this you on the fiddle??? it sounds totally ready to be finished into a stadium classic. One of my fav bands is the levellers and its totally on the lines of their heavier stuff. The chord progressions ahve a real classic feal to them and i would so so love to hear lyrics and melody whacked onto this at some point. Superb
@ladyred Mar 2022
Love this! :)
@williamjames Mar 2022
Took a listen to the full version. The fiddle? sounds almost celtic and flows so well with the rest of the instruments! This is uplifting and rocking at the same time, very cool!
@andrea Feb 2022
This feels like elation! I love the Celtic and the rock sounds. The fiddle is super sweet. I love it.
@audrey Feb 2022
Oh, I wanted to hear the whole thing. This is such a great fusion of rock, bluegrass and Americana. I actually think it's too short. Love the fiddle and everything about this in fact. I'm always impressed by your versatility with instruments and styles. Your musicality shines through this John. I love it!
@gwyn1234 Feb 2022
I love bluegrass...I love Celtic music...I love country...I love rock and I love this track!
@grayland Feb 2022
This is brilliant!! I love good instrumentals!! I LOVE the way this starts out... with that double thumping bass line.. But of course the fiddle steals the show. Such a fantastic melody sung so perfectly by that fiddle!
@mikeb Feb 2022
The rocking guitar starting this threw me (expecting something else from the song's title), but when the fiddle came in, I got the more familiar sounds of a band like "Enter the Haggis".
@bunter Feb 2022
This is hitting hard. Great production and some deft fiddle riffs and turns over what is a driving rock track. Excellent.
@coolparadiso Feb 2022
Excellent piece, it is cross Celtic. The fiddle is fantastic. A great listen as is. I agree with others bars evenings beers and this anywhere its gonna rate!
@gm7 Feb 2022
I agree with @tseaver Newfoundland rock/Irish sound.. It's where I live and you called that one correctly
John: you could play that song anywhere from Nova Scotia to Eastern Newfoundland and never have to but another beer again!! Here's looking at ya!
@ghukes Feb 2022
Great musical fusion going on here!
@tseaver Feb 2022
Nice riff on the Celtic rock genre: pulling in some of the old timey fiddle reminds me a bit of the Newfoundland rock sound, as I heard it in the musical "Come From Away."
@cindyrella Feb 2022
I feel this is like a huge table of great foods but it's music instead-and I just love everything about it! Awesome!
@odilongreen Feb 2022
I like how this keeps me on my toes: it starts with the driving rock beat, then the bluegrass / fiddle comes in, and it all swirls together in such a tasty melange that has my head bopping along. I downloaded the full length version, which is really great too, after listening to the version here; I'm very impressed with the seamless edit you did for the "single" version. Sounds great, and the music gets my heart going all on its own; I'm intrigued as to what lyrics you were considering adding.
@crisp1 Feb 2022
The beginning does NOT sound Celtic and then wham! the Celtic kicks in. This has a ton of musical energy to it, great fiddling and electric guitars, but I have to say the drums really carry this one. Wow!
@dragondreams Feb 2022
the punch and drive of that bass line grabbed my attention instantly! And then the rest of it is just magical. I love the Celtic/Americana fusion vibe you've got going here. I LOVE this. :-)
Needs banjo...
