Tried to get a feel of time pressure and the helpless sensation of rapid work/life demands.
Been listening to Alison Moyet and the Eurythmics so 80’s electro-synth sound prominent.
The pressure doesn’t stop
The build up never drops
Ping pong in my brain
Wake up to do it again
A clock on every screen
Enough to make you scream
But how does anyone hear
Internal screaming in their ear
Time is flying by
Gone in a blink of an eye
Youth turns to ache
Fillers used to fake
Why all the rush
Profits demand hush
Only way out of this ditch
Is to be filthy rich
Pressure surely mounts
Keeping up is what counts
The heart beat mustn’t stop
That’s when the body drops….

You sure know how to write a bluesy groovey melody. The bendiness against that ticking background works really well!

This is intense and definitely nails the feel you were going for! Builds in pressure, excellent lyrics.

I like the tick throughout the track, the movement of time ass a constant reminder. Maybe the introduction of more percussion as the song builds could increase that sense of time spilling forward, some shakers might sound good? Just a thought!
The internal screaming line works very well and I really like the 'youth turns to ache' line. Lots of potential here!
