@zecoop confounded me with the simple piano lattice to let this lyrical vine climb all over and after I hacked it down and groomed it and pruned it again—it kept growing back just the way it wanted to. So this unmanageable difficult to time thing is my lyrical contribution to what my wife said was lovely calming music. I am sure overlaying these vocals will disinherit her from that assertion.
The visible spectrum
1/1
I
Can’t be sure
Did I really see your face
Reflecting back on it
And I just have to see you again
2/1
I thought it was a matter of fact
But the fact of the matter is
I can’t be sure of you
And I gotta I gotta see you again
Ch/
Light and memory
Play a game with me
And everyone that I love
Making who they really are so hard to see
1/1
But I
can’t be sure
If I ever really really saw your face
Lookin back at me I mean
And I just really need to see you again
2/1
Cuz the visible spectrum
Only shows so much to me
And now I wish I wish that I could see
Just what I couldn’t
I couldn’t see then then then
Br/ **When this slant of light
Coming from this look on your face
Hits the prism of my memory
And comes into shape
And puts everything
back into place
It Feels so good
And this ray of light
When it goes through diffraction
Gives me a such sense of satisfaction
Because the rays of light
lead back to a place
I made just for me and just for you you you**
1/1
Still sometimes
I want to know
That I can really see your face
And I just have to see you again
To be sure sure sure
2/1
Now just when I thought
I had something else ahead of me
Something good placed itself in front of me
And I guess I will just wait here and
See…

Beautiful imagery and I love the metaphor that visible light is insufficient to see all the beauty of the object of one's affection.

Not sure why "dirge" unless the music lattice you mention is (are you going to reproduce it?) because this is essentially hopeful, not a death or loss. Interesting stuff.
