Amanda said write anything so i did. I have been joking for weeks on zoom about skirmish police! Everyone says dont worry there are no Skirmish police and i said what of there were!
So it was time to write this. Did it in a few minutes needs more work.
Skirmish police
Evening officer what can i do for you
I heard you started early
And maybe finished late
I gonna need some answers
You need to just be straight
You sure that this songs different
Or is it plagiarized
Or just one you wrote before
And only just revised
I can ban you indefinitely
You’ll never get release
Coz you better understand
I am the skirmish police
Did you listen to all the songs
Or only just a few
I suppose you never thought
That we always new
Did you sit down and write
Or borrow from a friend
Don’t you tell me any fibs
Ill find out in the end
I can ban you indefinitely
You’ll never get you release
Coz you better understand
I am the skirmish police
I am the skirmish police

I didn’t know I should be watching my back when I was doing the skirmishes. Fortunately for me there were no sirens that went off, even when I started and ended late. This is so clever. Now we have a skirmish theme song!

So imaginative! This is really good stuff John, gave me a big laugh. You have a whole world going here that could also be built on - skirmish doctor, skirmish lawyer, skirmish sanitation department!
@sheslin Feb 2022
What a hoot John! I think you covered all the angles and with such Witt. This is adorable. I can hear it with a light up and down accompaniment almost like a circus kinda thing, maybe throw in a little siren (not a US one though) when you sing the hook line. What a great skirmish song.

This is so funny. I love all the infraction ideas. I hope to hear this with music - soon!
@rayboneor Feb 2022
Pretty funny...and a great use of the "what if" prompt. Started early and finished late! Indeed. Don't tell the skirmish police: I rarely do skirmishes, but I sometimes check to see if something I'm already working on can be made to work with a skirmish prompt.
@cicpisces Feb 2022
Funny lyrics. They have a nice rhythm. We can all relate. Nice.
@tunecat Feb 2022
Great stuff! I can imagine being asked these things in a 1984 esque scene across a table in a tableau of disturbing beds. Bring on the FAWM opera!
@davidtaro Feb 2022
Haha, this is quality! Reminds me of Jazz Police by Leonard Cohen. Another great meta FAWM number. The ‘I can ban you indefinitely’ is so sinister.
@dzdandcunfsd Feb 2022
I was about to call it a night, but saw this title and had to come give it a peep.
Suck on these lawdog!
Haha... now that you're on the prowl I guess I should go finish listening to all the songs in last skirmish I was in, but take it easy officer I promise I'll get to it after some sleep.
@wobbiewobbit Feb 2022
haha funny :) nice skirmish - i hope you didn't cheat!!
@timfatchen Feb 2022
Ha! But I got caught cheating and had to turn my electrobaton in so this conversation is a complete fabrication and I have a lawyer here to back me up, and a recording of the conversation which didn't happen, so be WARNED!
@ajna1960 Feb 2022
ha ha ha this is brilliant !
Wonderful rhythm and scanning, and I can't wait for it to be musicated !
Yes, for me anyways, prompts are merely inspiration to get my mind swirling. My skirmish songs can sometimes be tenuous at best in their relation to the prompt !
And, I do have to admit that I was a little 'skirmish policey' when organising this superskirmish, to try and keep it all running over such a long period, and not be a massive jumble of hard to find posts ;)
